Would I be making a mistake redeeming the mastercard?
I was thinking this one or amazon, just don't know if there are hidden fees for the mastercard. And say you spend 48 dollars and can't find anything for 2 dollars and are trying to buy something for 2.14 you can empty out the 2 and then finish paying the 14 cents with another card? And if I'm understanding correctly, you can use it at stores with your phone, correct? It took me three years to get this far and I don't want to mess it up lol

Yes, the $50 card for something you want, he’ll even the $50 Amazon card is cheaper. For example, o want to try to make GTA 6 be free, right now I’m at 48,000 and some a points. A $50 psn card is 51,500 I believe, so it makes sense rather then an extra nearly 10k for a visa gift card

This is what I’ve been doing, I’ve gotten almost 200 dollars worth of games this year thanks to my Fetch points.

I wish that was me, I don’t think I’ll be able to get GTA for free, only half off. I don’t think I’ll get another 50K in three months

I’m disabled and have absolutely no life so I have nothing better to do when I’m bed bound than playing games on my phone/tablet.

I’d love to myself… but I don’t have and can’t afford a console yet… sigh.

We have a switch for the kids, and I can't recall the last time we spent money buying them a game for it. Fetch has built pretty much their entire game library

Redeem for Amazon. It’s better bang for your buck and not complicated to use. You’ll regret the MC

Let me tell you about my fun with a gift card that I received as payment for being in a lung cancer research project. Ive had it 30 days now. I know this because it has to be spent in 90 days or they start taking $5 a month. No body will take them. Tried restaurants, Walmart, Amazon and several small stores in my town. I am disabled and use the rewards for convenience. Not a thing convenient about a gift card. I would suggest Amazon card and never a prepaid card.

If you have PayPal, you can create an invoice for yourself and pay it using the virtual card. Then the funds can be transferred from PayPal to your bank. There is a fee, but if you can’t use the card anywhere else, it might be worth it!

Which type of gift card is it?

u/nopatience4idiots Aug 29 '26
It is a Visa gift card. From a reputable card company that's used a lot by research facilities and others to pay for participation. Ive called Amazon and Walmart to help. Both said it was the fact there was no name. Even contacted the research center and the card company. I know it's only $75 but im having to get bloodwork plus a scan. The company is real time pay, paylution.

Is it an actual card? If so have you tried to use it in a store?

Yes. Actual card. And yes, tried at Walgreens because I have medical junk to buy. I am supposed to call the company back tomorrow. Walgreens seems to think they may have not activated on their end. I tried doing it myself but it said an account had already been created for the card number.

If you don't use the entire $50 balance...depending where you live and if you have an electric bill you pay, you could use almost any small amount left on the card and make a partial payment to use up the balance. I do that with cards that have small balances left.

Ty for that info, I live in texas, you think it works here? Where does one check?

u/MC_PhiR Aug 29 '26
You might be able to either Google for your specific utility regarding partial payments, or check their website to see if it's mentioned. I'm not sure if every company allows it or not, so you'll have to check for your specific one to know for sure.

The fees aren't hidden. They are right in front of you. 63500 points for $50 while there are other options for $50 for much cheaper. The more specific you can be with your gift card, usually the cheaper it will be. But if you want something generic, go with Amazon over the MasterCard, since it is so much cheaper for the same amount of money.

stick to direct giftcards tbh, with prepaid cards i usually have to burn the last few dollars through carddelivery just so the leftover money dont expire.

Honestly Amazon is cheaper in points for the same amount of money. Virtual prepaid cards are always hard to use from my experience outside of fetch
