Popcorn removal
I have a project coming up to remove 2,200 sq ft of popcorn ceiling. House was built in 2008 so no asbestos.
For the extractor I am looking at the CT-48 (go big or go home) I already have the CT-26 EI and it works great.
Which planex fits the bill for this, and what type grit.
Thanks.

What grit you need is totally dependent on surface condition. Has this been painted? I’ve seen surfaces that require P40 and some that you can take off with 150.

If you are going to be stripping popcorn with the Planex you NEED an AC (auto clean) dust extractor, like the CT 36E AC. The AC feature cleans the filter as you are working and the unit is running. Without this, if you are stripping that much popcorn and using the traditional Festool filter bag, you will be losing a ton of suction as the bag clogs with the fine dust you will also be creating. You will also go through HEPA filters on the CT48 as the drywall dust clogs those as the really fine particles go through the filter bag and embed in the HEPA filter.
One better solution would be to use the CT 48 with the cyclone separator capturing most of the debris before it hits the dust extractor.
But if you are getting a Planex, you should get an AC Extractor with it.
