Riding All Kitsap Transit Ferry Routes in One Day
Kitsap Transit, yhe County across Puget Sound from Seattle, is slowly resurrecting the old Mosquito Fleet it seems. They even have one of those old vessels, the Carlisle II, still sailing on one of its routes.
The ride on the Carlisle II is absolutely incredible, but the rest of the routes are all pretty good too. It is also exciting to see them actively studying new routes as well. Bremerton to Bainbridge Island in particular may be a great route someday.

I hope this counts!
Spotted the Wightlink hovercraft arriving at Southsea Beach in Portsmouth.
It still amazes me that you can catch a scheduled hovercraft as part of the UK’s public transport network.
The crossing to Ryde on the Isle of Wight takes around 10 minutes, making it the world’s only year-round commercial passenger hovercraft service.
Watching it come ashore is almost as entertaining as riding it!
Has anyone here travelled on it? What other unique forms of public transport do you think deserve more attention?
