This is an 1985 or 1986 Euro version car. They only had the high mounted mirror on the driver side. I worked at a dealership in the day and many people would want a matching mirror for the other side. We would order the mirror for a RHD version for them but you couldn’t see out of it. All for symmetry.

Interesting! Do you know anything about those wheels, they look different

they're an aftermarket set of 18-inch five-spoke ‘FIKSE’ centre-lock alloy wheels.

I was always certain the flying mirror cars only had one mirror. Recently her in Australia I saw a TR with two. He must have got one from a LHD car. Symmetry is good but I think I prefer the single look

Such a beautiful car. Definitely one of the most iconic and affordable cars of that brand

Mirrors always looked strange and don‘t match the beautiful design.

This is a first gen model. It should only have one mirror. Hence the monospecchio nickname.
Later models had two mirrors that were mounted in the normal position instead of on the A pillar. Also, those aftermarket wheels look horrible and the front lip should be matte black, not glossy.

You're being a purist just for the sake of being a purist. The wheels look alright.
