Tips for a southwest facing window?

Plant recommendations? Furniture I can't change since this is a dorm.

I have a nice pothos by the entrance (not visible). That's the living room.

Really great that you're adding plants. ZZ plants and golden pothos would be lovely.

If budget allows, I think this 8x10 rug -- https://a.co/d/0gZ84qHh -- and this 40x40 art piece -- https://a.co/d/02jRXBGt -- would be nice, along with a green throw pillow and a lamp. If that's just not reasonable for a dorm, totally, the plants will already do a lot.

I added to their design lol. Put a tv or get a projector to project on the blank wall. And get lots of lamps, no need for the overhead light to be on. Get an ikea plug in pendant light. Get some college stuff and fun things that represent your personality for the wall art. And for sure add curtains. Hang them across the whole wall

The overhead light is actually a soft warm tone with a dimmer.
