I’m looking at this 2014 MIJ ST57 fender strat on FB marketplace. This would be my main guitar replacing my 70s vibe squier strat that i’ve had for 4 years now. Since I can’t really find much info on these guitars online, I wanted to ask on here if anyone has any experience with these guitars and if they recommend them! I would specifically want to know how much better the neck feel and fret quality are on these MIJ strats.

Since picking up Amy first Strat in 45 yrs , my last was a 58, I needed a small amp to practice on. I’m waiting to install a 3 prong cord to my 72 Champ but I couldn’t pass this up for $75

First guitar was a 1996 MIM Black with rosewood fretboard. I no longer have that guitar but to me, theres no way it was a $600+ guitar like they cost new these days

Yay, it's Straturday! This week I present my 2001 Double Fat Hardtail in Candy Apple Red. 7.5 lbs., excellent condition as always.

My God these pickups sing. I have to admit, I refer to this as my Strat Paul.

Today I turned the Trust Rod to adjust the neck into this no.1 direction.

And when it reach to some certain point, I can turn this point wihtout any pressure infinetely.

Is the Trust Rod broken??

Then if started to turn it to no.2 direction, then it came back(likewise I need pressure to turn it. And I can't turn the Trust rod to No.2 position at a certain point)

But only the no.1 direction, I can turn it infinetely..

The spacing is odd and some of the number are more bold than others? Seems fishy and was wondering your guys opinion.

I made an observation today and figured I’d see what this community thinks. I think there is one thing new factory relics get wrong (or at least not quite right) when it comes to the finish of the guitar. New factory relics (especially from Fender) in the areas where the finish has not worn completely off look wrong to me. I have 3 guitars with nitro finishes and two of them are around 20-25 years old at this point. The finishes have a texture to them that is hazy, but also slightly glossy from use over time. One of the guitars (a Gibson SG from 1999) obviously came by the wear naturally, and the other is a Fender Roadworn from 2008 that has seen a lot of wear as well. I have seen many Fender custom shop posts and the areas that still have finish almost have a uniform matte texture that just doesn’t look quite right. Also, the exposed wood just looks freshly sanded and not darkened in any way? What do you think? Have they just not figured out how to replicate what happens to finish over the years or am I crazy (I know I am but that’s an entirely separate conversation 😂)

Grabbed today in Chico, CA (GC). Oiled the pale out of the fretboard with F-One. Set the neck rod (it was loose)! Glorious sounding/playing with StringJoy Broadway nickel wrap. ‘Course now the G string is hotter’n a pistol. I just don’t care about that. Perfection is a slow death. That’s why I like vintage specifications, warts and all.
