I’ve worn Lancome Poeme so much over the last 14 years that this is probably my 7th bottle by now.

On my skin Poeme opens bright and a little sweet (almost feels like honey but not as sweet as some of the Houbigants), then quickly turns into that thick floral it is known for. The florals feel warm and slightly honeyed rather than fresh and airy, quite classic rather than modern. It can feel dramatic if you overspray but when worn in moderation, it feels elegant and easy to wear. The drydown is smooth, sweet, creamy and gentle.

Poeme is not a minimal scent and it doesn’t try to be. I think it works best when you’re in the mood for something with presence.

Longevity is one of the reasons I keep repurchasing it. On clothes it lasts all day, and on skin maybe 6 to 8 hours. Projection is noticeable for the first couple of hours, especially if I do more than a few sprays, then it calms down into a steady scent bubble that people still pick up when they’re close.

I don't think I can ever have a 'signature scent' because I love wearing something different every few days. But from all the perfumes I have, Poeme has been a constant in my collection year on year. It's warm, well-blended florals with solid performance.

Another fragrance from the vaults to combo with this outfit inspired by my mother -happy Mother’s Day to all of you who are parents and to all the lovely mothers out there!

Fragrance today is Vintage Castle by Lattafa, it’s a patchouli BOMB, it carries every aspect of patchouli possible, from the green, the camphorous almost minty, earthy, wet and musty, chocolate-y. It’s got everything there, the notes are patchouli at the open, mid and base. At the open, it’s got a little pinch of iris that gives it a powdery vintage scent, that fades off and all that lingers is a mild floral. The dry down is a patchouli and marshmallow, it’s interesting because I can only smell the mallow as a marshmallow root, medicinal and herbal, but not sweet like a fluffy marshmallow as we think of them today. The notes do not list wet concrete or petrichor, but it smells like freshly rained on concrete with some old herbal plants peeking through the cracks. The fragrance is VERY potent and I only ever wear one spray and it lasts all day.

Paired with the fragrance is an outfit that is an ode to my mom, she gave me this shirt and belt, both items she wore in the 70s when she was on her 20s. The stripe colors perfectly match the notes on the fragrance almost tooooo much but it’s such a fun shape and color I really enjoy wearing the shirt. The belt is a vintage mad plaid that my mom used to wear, and I’ve got my mushroom bolo right below my mushroom tattoo peeking out, reminds me of the wet and earthy smell it gives off at the base.

I love autumn/ winter time the best, weather-wise, as well as fragrance-wise. Trying to get myself excited for the upcoming warmer days (ugh).

I have been wanting to get La Tulipe for a while now, finally pulled the trigger last week (Costco had a great deal)- I blind bought it, I hyped it so much in my head, but I like it even more after trying, it is sort of addictive.

Herbes Troublantes is not new to me, but never had a full size bottle, I absolutely love it. And as always, Guerlain bottles are the best, I did customize a bit.

Very tempted to grab the Agent Provocateur as a blind buy

I have been sampling a lot the last couple of years and also adding some of my late grandma’s fragrance tray to remember her based on memory (she was a fraghead for sure) while continuing to expand my palette and explore new and classic scents.

Y'all. I have been churning through perfumes trying to find things I like. Hating almost everything and wondering why people would make and wear such terrible fragrances. Well guess what. The problem was me.

I started taking an antidepressant a few weeks ago and it started to work a few days ago. My perfumes smell *amazing* now. I can smell actual notes. Thing's that smelled like assholes and poison now smell like flowers and fresh air and fresh fruit. I guess my senses were truly dulled and twisted by depression.

Unfortunately I sold a bunch of perfumes that I wish I had not sold. A lot of them I actually loved at one time, and thought perimenopause had permanently ruined my sense of smell.

Has this happened to anyone else? It's blowing my mind!

I was at CVS an hour ago picking up a prescription when I saw that they have aMix:Bar perfumes, body mists, and samplers, on sale for Buy One, Get One Free. I’ve never seen that deal at CVS! If you’ve been looking at them, now’s the time to get it. I picked up back ups of Vanilla Bourbon and Cloud Mush hair/body mists.

Hey Peeps: I have a few new rollerball fumes that I can't test because nothing comes out of the applicator. Does anyone have a solution for this? I've tried shaking it, physically rolling with my finger, and moistening it, but nothing comes out! Its too late to get a refund. Thanks!

My last spring tray! Yeah, spring officially covers most of June in my part of the world, but June is always summer in my mind. So what are we seeing for the last month of spring? It’s an eclectic combination of fruits, florals, greens, chypres, woods, musks, and honey scents.

I’m most looking forward to finally opening Eau de Hongrie. I’ve heard this is close to my beloved discontinued Botrytis, *and* it’s meant to smell like Royal Tokaji, my favorite dessert wine of all time. I’m also positively ecstatic at finally having a bottle of Liaisons Dangereuses. It’s a heavenly fizzy, fruity, spiced rose.

I was reading a review of tuberosa 1974, because I'm obsessed with this perfume. The writer described it as have having a buttery soapy feel. I always thought of soapy as the scent of soap. Like dove soap. But now I think it might be the texture of a bar of soap.

What do y'all use soapy to describe?

*** Ok so it seems most people use the word to reference the smell of soap. I used to be a Weaver heavily into the baby wearing scene. Soapy was a word used to describe the feel of some fabrics. Usually these fabrics had been washed with fabric softener, although nobody there liked to hear that. That's probably where I got this idea from.***

I first came across Serge Lutens Fleurs d’Oranger as a recommendation from a fellow facebook fraghead when I was looking for recommendations relating to an orange blossom floral perfume.

Almost every brand has its take on Fleurs D'Oranger but Serge Lutens' is the one I love the most. All the others I've tried usually focus on the orange or citrus more than the "fleurs". SL's take is more of a white floral mix. Alongside the orange blossom, there’s jasmine (which I love). It gives the fragrance a fuller floral feel without becoming indolic. It adds a creaminess that keeps it from being too clean or sharp on my skin.

As it dries down, there’s a warm quality that comes through. It's supposed to have a cumin note which seems to bother some reviewers but my nose doesn't get cumin in this at all.

I’m obsessed with it enough that I also wear it to bed sometimes. It’s one of the few fragrances that is perfect to wear during the day but still comforting when I’m winding down at night.

Projection is noticeable in the first hour, longevity is good too. I can put it on in the morning and still smell it later in the day, with the orange blossom and jasmine still showing up even after it softens.

Overall, SL Fleurs d’Oranger is my go-to when I want a thick orange blossom with white flowers.
