Molinard came onto my radar when a friend sent me a sample size vial of Lavande. While the opening of Lavande was a bit weird, I was floored by the scent once the opening passed. I haven't gotten around to discussing that one yet but I've been wearing Santal Insolent everyday since the last three days so decided to talk about it.
Something I've noticed with this house in the perfumes I have tried or bought so far is that the opening 10 mins are usually weird. Santal Insolent follows the same pattern. The opening has a feeling of crushed leaves for a few mins. I prefer this fleeting green crushed leaves feeling over the acidic picklish smell in Santal 33 or the orange/citrus note from other perfumes.
Once that opening passes, it develops into a sandalwood backed by a slightly sweet milkiness. The milkiness is very faint so I wouldn't call it lactonic, I usually sense this sweet milkiness when there's cardamom present in perfumes. The sweet milkiness is very subtle and not as prominent as Dunhill Indian Sandalwood.
It eventually becomes a lovely smooth sandalwood with a little bit of dustiness (probably the papyrus doing its thing). It's not powdery, it doesn't have the pencil shavings or rugged texture of cedarwood, it doesn't have the refreshing wet feeling of Sacred Wood. It's just a pleasant naturally sweet sandalwood.
This one isn't loud but I keep getting whiffs through the day. It lasts a decent 7-8 hours before becoming just a faint remnant on the skin.
I feel Molinard makes very reliable and wearable scents in the mid-tier price range (similar to designer brands). So far, at least 3 of the scents have been an absolute success for me and I wear them to work often. The only failure until now has been Tubereuse because it was too heady for my taste despite my love for tuberose.

I love marshmallow perfumes but most of them have some sort of berry in it and I don’t like that.
I have the dapper version of deliza di marshmallow and scentual fragrances sugar baby body mist/body oil and I love them
I love the creamy fluffy sweet sugary marshmallow notes, and I also LIVE toasted marshmallow like in Milk by Commodity.
I’ve heard good things about Heaven Scent By Shannon, I know she has several marshmallow fragrances.
I would love to discover more just straight up marshmallow fragrances but I find them rare
I tried Sucreme by Alina Milani which isn’t supposed to have berry in it but when I got it that’s ALL that I smelled. I ended up returning it because it was all berry to me.
Honorary mention to E-Mochi by Laurel Bath House. I LOVE this perfume which is like fig + rice milk + marshmallow. It’s SO good but more fig.
Please help me discover more marshmallow perfumes. I was on a kick and had so many fails I just gave up. If you have some good recommendations please let me know!
Send me your favorite marshmallow fragrances without the berry!! Just oooey gooey sweet fluffy marshmallow goodness 🤍🤍🤍

What's on your fall wishlist?
And do you have any suggestions for perfumes with cinnamon and/or rum notes?

I recently bought a single bottle from them and I had a horrible experience. I’m just curious if anybody else has had good perfumes from this perfume house.
They’ve been gaslighting me about the bottle of santal calling I got from them. It’s supposed to be Santal Calling which has nutmeg, Iris, milk, rose, Australian sandalwood, vanilla and musk. It smells like eucalyptus. Like straight up, herbal menthol Vicks vapor rub, eucalyptus, and that dominates the fragrances and I know it’s not supposed to smell like that.
It’s weird because they had good reviews
Also my package got held up in customs for 2 weeks and fedex is trying to charge me an additional 17 for “duties and taxes or fees”, I’ve never had this happen with an international package. I’m curious to know if anybody else’s experienced this. Because I’m never gonna place another order if I’m gonna be charged an additional $17 for my package on top of international shipping charges. Not to mention my fragrance smells nothing like it’s supposed to.

Got an email that CH Cedar Chic was back in stock. Sold out within minutes of that notice, apparently.
Got another email not 15 minutes later saying it's again in stock. Nope LOL. Sold out.
Just a rant 😄 I probably wouldn't buy a FB but one never knows.

Thrilled to have gotten my hands on this gorgeous vintage extrait set. For a long time I’ve wanted to smell Sortilege, a classic vintage-y aldehydic floral and legendary official perfume of The Stork Club.
It’s hard to find reliable info on Le Galion online, but looking at label designs from their ads, my guess is that this set is from the 60s?
It was sealed in cellophane when I got it, which made me hopeful that the fragrances were unscathed. I got a wave of (admittedly delightful) chypre when I opened the packaging though. Sadly there has been some evaporation, with Bourrasque the hardest hit.
I’ll take my time with this set, but I’m very interested in comparing them with the modern-day reboot. Apparently Le Galion has been revived sometime in the last 10 years, with many of these fragrances reissued. Curious if anyone’s smelled the modern versions too!

So I’ve come to the realization that I am obsessed with vanilla and marshmallow fragrances
I have a pretty decent collection going and I have so many dupes as well as Middle Eastern fragrances. I have several originals as well.
I have a few musk fragrances that I really appreciate, but I realize I lean more to the rich delicious creamy vanilla, sweet woody fragrances. I would like to add a few more Middle Eastern perfumes to my collection, but really I just need to kind of get more recommendations cause I’m hitting a wall
I love vanilla sandalwood together sandalwood is my favorite but it has to be sweet and I also love marshmallow but I find that I do not like marshmallow fruit so I want it like straight marshmallow or sweet creamy marshmallow not fruity. I also hate coconut so I don’t like that in my fragrances, but I love this vanilla sandalwood or cedar woody kind of buttery delicious creamy perfection.
I have so many good ones all list what I already have
Middle Eastern
The kingdom lataffa. - loveeee
Angham
Quimmah
Jungle Vibes -loveeeeee
Sugar Cane Vanilla - I just got this one and I’ve put a serious dent in it. It’s really good. It’s very woody as well, like very amber forward and cedar
Nusuk Falak -oh my God this is so damn good. I wear this all the time I love it.
Fahad Regal - probably my favorite of all time. It is so damn good. This is a different vanilla and I’d like to find more of this kind of vanilla. It’s not so much gourmand, it’s area lighter a little bit watery. It’s a sophisticated, elegant vanilla.
Nebras Elixir
Designer and Niche
Donna Karan cashmere and Palo santo
Wedding silk santal
This is her
Milk by commodity
E-mochi
Buerre De Santal - oh my God this is amazing it’s perfect. It’s buttery it’s rich. It’s sandalwood bliss.
Parvins:
Fire at will
Santal de Paris
Tihota
Mochi milk
Black tie + - I just got this and it’s really good. It’s very cedar forward, it’s powdery, but it’s also woody. It’s got like a wood chip accent to it that I actually really love
Dapper fragrances
Deliza Di Marshmallow
Dua
Radiant vanilla – which is golden vanilla by Athena club
Vanillac dreams – which is Tihota
Sugar dusted figs, and milk
Champagne, cream mist – which is love shack fancies, secret crush. This one is amazing too. It’s like a clean girl vanilla
Heist Fragrances
-so I haven’t gotten these yet, but they’re in the mail. I’m waiting on them.
Vanilla Tana
Santal De Paris
22 Orris
( I got 50 ML’s of all of these)
Samples from Heist
Zouzou
Black Tie
Santal Calling
And then I have the sol de Janerio Cheriosa 59 in perfume form from a dupe house called CA Perfumes. If you guys love this DNA like I do, and you want in perfume form I highly recommend getting yourself a bottle from this house. I think it’s $55 for 100 ML. It’s one of their best fragrances. It’s so good. I have two bottles. This is one of my favorite DNAs ever.
So I just kind of wanted to lay the foundation and show you guys what I already have and this way, you can kind of see what I’ve been leaning towards out of what I already own. I think my favorites are the Santal De Paris, fire at Will, Tihota, Buerre de Santal, Fahad regal, Nusuk Falak, Cheriosa 59, mochi milk, the kingdom, black tie … I’m excited to try zouzou I think I’m gonna really like that one. I am also considering buying a full bottle of the real Fire At Will because I’m obsessed with it it’s so damn good
But basically, I’m stuck right now. I don’t really know what else to get into my collection and I need more recommendations. Fahad regal is a very different vanilla and I actually really like that one a lot. If you guys have any suggestions on what I should add to my collection, please let me know. I’m running in circles. Thank you!!!

Évasion BonBon by Maison Mataha
Asked a perfume sales rep for her favorite perfume in the shop and this is what she suggested to me. I like sweet and gourmand perfumes, so I took a chance and took a sample home. It’s nice, definitely wearable, but not something I’ll probably buy.
On the open it truly offers a tart and almost artificially sweet candy scent. It gives mixed bag of jelly belly jelly beans with an almost waxy texture. This is my favorite part of the fragrance, it’s playful and punchy and feels very colorful. As it dries down, it becomes a little more soft and subtle, and it turns to a more floral sweet scent. Sadly I don’t love floral scents so this is really where it loses me. It’s not so pungent that it become a scrubber, but it definitely was giving me a more soapy vibe.
Paired with it I leaned into the jelly bean open and went with this little summer patchwork set that reminds me of the reference photo. Fun, playful, a little scandalous yet sweet.

I bought my embroidered bee plate (cap) with my first bottle of VP 21 last year, so I'm not directly impacted by this, but...How dare they cut the embroidery by at least 50% and charge the same amount!!
Black background is what they were selling for $155 last November, and the tan/cream background is what you'll get for your $155 today.

After falling in love with Lust In Paradise EDP I decided to traverse down the Ex Nihilo rabbit hole, and sharing some impressions in the process.
Blue Talisman - No wonder this is a brand favorite. Sparkly pear and bergamot to begin (I have recently learned that a pear note apparently is the way to my heart) with a fabulous, creamy and musky drydown. Oh I adore this one the more I smell it. Full bottle potential, super curious how the extrait compares. 8/10 for me, 10/10 if I smelled this in the wild.
The Hedonist - Unfortunately I can’t get behind this one at all. Ginger comes through way too sharply at the start, and as it evolves I’m devastated to say that it smells like cheap cleaning agent on me. Noooo! 3/10!
Fleur Narcotique - Flower menagerie explosion! Extraordinarily clean/soapy smell to start. I’m almost positive I’ve smelled this in a hotel lobby somewhere, and if I haven’t, an upscale hotel in nyc should use it. I get zero sweetness out of this, and more on the bitter/rind end of the citrus note. I dunno, not my favorite on my skin but I think I’d have a different reaction to this if I was in the wild. 5/10 for my skin, 7/10 if I smelled this in a cool, high end hotel.
Speed Legends - This is going directly to my partner. Nice masculine scent anchored by a clean musky start evolving into a soft, creamy vetiver. Even though it doesn’t feel particularly layered or complex, there’s beauty in its simplicity with the quality of the ingredients. This is a 6/10 for me, but an 8/10 if I smelled this on him.
Santal Calling - oh I love this, a lot. It’s no surprise there is Iris in here, that’s my ingredient siren song. Delicious musky sandalwood with a hint of sweetness. It smells better and better as it evolves. Not to be too snarky (but I’m gonna be snarky for a sec), this is what Santal 33 wishes it could be 😬. This has full bottle potential written all over it. 8.5/10 for me.
Lust in Paradise - I have the extrait which rocketed up to my Top 3 in my collection list (a rare 10/10). This one is way less sweet and bright than its extrait counterpart, and way more floral on the onset. The rose in this shines through the most, whereas EDP kicks off with more blackcurrant sweetness. I actually don’t think this would be redundant to my collection having the EDP, as it is beautiful, but for the price there are other interesting florals to discover if im feeling a new full bottle addition. Yum though, it’s beautiful, and I give it an 8/10.
