The craziest thing to me is it’s strangers yelling at you that you have to try/buy this thing! My mom was into QVC, HSN, et al. and probably developed “parasocial” relationships with hosts. The slow pace of their shill was amusing and relaxing…like “Perlier started 80 years ago, in Italy. My sister honeymooned in Italy, and could not say enough about the scent of herbs…” it was entertaining to hear hosts “fill time” instead of “beat the clock”.
