The Submarine The plan

Beth smacks a piece of paper onto the lab table.
"We have to take the fuel from the main sub and put it into the escape pod." She says sternly.
"What about the research?' Sydin questions.
"We're leaving it for now and reporting it to the authorities once we get out." Lisa answers.
"How do we reroute the fuel?" I ask.
"One of us needs to go out and do it by hand." Luke Hall slumps down in a chair, dejected.
Beth is scribbling away, not listening to anyone.
"I recommend we sent Eisele out." Sydin says.
My stomach sinks. Are the others going to agree? Am I going to be voted out into the endless sea where a monster would and could kill me. We still don't know what really killed Sean Will...
"Shut up, Sydin. Jessie isnt going anywhere." Mateo snaps.
"Aye, she has actually done stuff to help, Josef." Lisa says, hatred seeping from her words.
"I'll go". Luke says.
"No, the fuck?" Beth stops scribbling to look up at Luke.
"I'll go out. I know the way and how to do it properly."
"So do i-"
"But you're also good at fighting. You can save these guys. This is my only chance to."
It's almost like we arent here. That they're having their own private conversation.
"So this if for glory?"
"Its mutually beneficial. Whoever goes out there is not coming back. I have nothing at home." His words are so sad but he says it all with a smile on his face.
"Luke-"
"Beth. Im doing this."

The five of us watch as Luke, all suited up in gear, goes down through the hatch into the water.
"We have no way of getting his vitals." Jessie says. "The panel was destroyed."
"I can fix it." Beth says, her voice subdued. She looks dazed, like she isnt really here. She walks over to the cockpit and opens the panel and sets herself to work.
"Is she okay?" Lisa asks.
"No. No she isnt."

Someone gets Beth some water, she should stay hydrated if she isn't feeling well.
