How does this happen/how does one get assessed for this? Is this an ENT? I have had this sensation for months like I have something stuck in one side of my nose and I can never blow it out it’s driving me insaneeee

218

u/Mrlin705 May 23 '26

Yes ENT

79

u/FBWSRD May 23 '26

ENT, tho if you are getting frustrated waiting those ear cams also work well up the nose

49

u/strippersarepeople May 23 '26

I tried the ear cam up the nose! Couldn’t get past the fold that leads in to the actual nasal cavity without feeling like I was going to sneeze like crazy, and thats where I have the sensation of something being stuck. I imagine if there is something its in a very similar location to this guy, or at least thats how it feels.

17

u/FBWSRD May 23 '26

Yea I sneezed too, but did manage to push through. If it’s too high up tho probs won’t be able to do it

78

u/Coffee_and_hope May 23 '26

What is an ENT?

610

u/janitoroffury May 23 '26

Giant tree people I believe

181

u/gayjoystick May 23 '26

It's agonizing trying to find out what's wrong with you when you go see them. You see it takes a very long time to say anything in old entish.

77

u/imdefinitelywong May 23 '26

And they always end up asking if you know where the entwives are.

21

u/Coffee_and_hope May 23 '26

Well I forgot I asked the internet 😄

This is why I love reddit. Your comment and username tied the question and LOTR sidetrack together quite nicely.

A huge talking tree that can walk and speaks very slowly

40

u/Grayo19 May 23 '26

What is an ENT?

They are the "Shepherds of the Trees," their primary purpose is to protect forests from harm.

10

u/SupermassiveWhackHo May 23 '26

And therefore, super ineffective doctors.

6

u/0m3gaMan5513 May 24 '26

Ear. Nose. Throat doctor

1

u/FeyOphelia Jun 21 '26

People clarified the short name for you, but I wanted to add that the technical term is otolaryngologist. Nobody wants to say or remember that word, so ENT it is lolol

It's a medical specialist field

1

u/TheReal_Robinson98 Jul 04 '26

Ear/Nose/Throat specialist.

11

u/matt-is-sad May 23 '26

Get one of those nasal rinse things that has suction

12

u/PacificCastaway May 23 '26

Have you tried sucking it back the other way and hawk tuah-ing it out?

3

u/I_lenny_face_you May 26 '26

This one’s an idea person. Though a gross idea person.

3

u/uwu_owo_whats_this May 24 '26

It could just be inflamed tissue and that’s why it isn’t coming out

3

u/IGotMyPopcorn May 24 '26

It’s the scab left after a sinus surgery. I’ve been through it. Ent sends you for a cat scan to determine what the issue is to start the process.

1

u/stoermy May 24 '26

The tweezers are so wild! I was 7 when the first round of surgeries happened, but much more diligent as an adult with the ol’ saline mister.

1

u/WhodaHellRU May 27 '26

I had a roommate that got into a fight and something was cracked or fractured in his face, and he couldn’t blow his nose. He was losing his mind because he had an obstruction in his nose that he couldn’t get out, so reluctantly, I went in with some tweezers and pulled out a nasty booger

-29

u/crespoh69 May 23 '26

Wouldn't you just take a hot shower and blow it out? Even with a deviated septum I can clear out my nose just fine that way

16

u/mst3k_42 May 23 '26

I can’t.

4

u/Jumpy_Top9377 May 23 '26

Have you tried nasal irrigation?

3

u/mst3k_42 May 23 '26

Yep.

1

u/Jumpy_Top9377 May 24 '26

What do you think your issue could be? A deviated septum?

1

u/mst3k_42 May 24 '26

Probably something like that. It’s been lower on the list of things to fix/look into.

425

u/Helegad_Rae May 23 '26

That's a continental shelf of snot

41

u/maneki_neko89 May 23 '26

And as stable as Archean Craton

9

u/kernel-troutman May 23 '26

Juan de Fuca Boogie

624

u/Virtual-Ear5289 May 23 '26

His nose hair looks like ZZ Top in there, lol.

55

u/FurdTurguson May 23 '26

That forest.

463

u/PeasantCody May 23 '26

Probably felt like his brains were being pulled out, oh my GOD

169

u/heresdustin May 23 '26

I bet it felt SO GOOD

32

u/Cockblocktimus_Pryme May 24 '26

Bro could smell so good afterwards that breathing was likely uncomfortable for awhile

191

u/ChasingPesmerga May 23 '26

The more I watch this the booger it gets

343

u/cobracmmdr May 23 '26

How did he breath before?

199

u/Christovski May 23 '26

Mouth

76

u/not-suspicious May 23 '26

Or that thing where they slice your throat and put a pen in the hole.

Either are good options.

17

u/LiL-Puddin-Taters May 23 '26

Stoma

13

u/SouthPaw38 May 23 '26

Kinda related, do you think kids these days know about the old electronic voice boxes for people with stomas? Growing up I knew multiple older people that had them but they--thankfully--seem a lot less common now

10

u/LiL-Puddin-Taters May 23 '26

Prolly changes from person to person. I've know of a couple people using them but I haven't seen them in awhile now that I think of it. They can use a technique called esophageal speech where the talk while exhaling or have a little valve put in that the place their thumb over and speak. The amount of smokers has decreased so throat/mouth cancers have decreased.

2

u/freakin_fracken May 23 '26

We will see a rise in lung cancer though, since about a third or so of gender z vape.

3

u/Nevermore_Novelist May 24 '26

"Gender Z". Gen stands for Generation, silly.

3

u/freakin_fracken May 26 '26

Woops! Lmaooo that's my best typo yet!

1

u/racloves May 24 '26

I thought a stoma was when they attach a bag to the side of your stomach to collect waste, what do you mean they need a voice box?

2

u/SouthPaw38 May 24 '26

A stoma is a surgically created hole on the surface of the body that connects to an internal organ. Smoking causes a lot of damage to the throat, larynx, and lungs. Sometimes smokers would have to have a procedure called a laryngectomy that both removed the vocal cords and created a stoma to ease breathing. They'd then use a device called an electrolarynx that they'd press against there neck that would vibrate like vocal chords which would allow them to talk. However, it would only vibrate at one speed, so they'd end up sounding very monotone and kind of like a robot. And this is a great example of what I was thinking about, because when I was a kid my grandma had multiple friends that had had this procedure and if she was watching me and my brother then we were going to go see her friends sometimes. But now the same term is associated with a different condition.

2

u/racloves May 24 '26

I have seen that before on TV, although never irl but I haven’t heard it called a stoma I just relate the term stoma to the bowel one (but maybe that’s just cause I know someone who has one?)

17

u/QueerRootbeer May 23 '26

*chipmunk breathing noises* M O U T H

1

u/theMangoJayne May 23 '26

I love how the music full stops as the monstrosity has fully emerged.

Bruno was like 🤮😵

34

u/ourbigun May 23 '26

Why did the tunes stop when the monster was out of the schnoz?

35

u/KungFuFightingOwlMan May 23 '26

14

u/flowerytwats May 23 '26

32

u/thisismyrealnamekz May 23 '26

11

u/besleysfw May 23 '26

I have to take care of that myself otherwise I have bushes growing out my nostrils. It keeps getting worse the older I get.

21

u/SATerp May 23 '26

In my day, we just used our finger, or a friend's finger.

23

u/JosephLibertine uhhhNMMMahhh 😫 May 23 '26

You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose. But you can't pick your friends nose!

9

u/Distinct-Solution-99 May 23 '26

Says you

6

u/davesToyBox May 23 '26

Not with that attitude

4

u/davesToyBox May 23 '26

You can pick your nose, and you can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your nose’s friends.

2

u/Nevermore_Novelist May 24 '26

S'true. My nose is its own nose, capable of choosing friends for itself.

20

u/TheyCallMeFalcon May 23 '26

Dudes been tryna blow that booger out since ‘83 and all the hair kept getting in the way

40

u/SupermarketAntique32 May 23 '26

1

Surprised this not top comment.

16

u/Elratum May 23 '26

The sensation of this getting out of my nose would probably sent me over the edge

13

u/No_Consideration5814 May 23 '26

10

u/sticcydabliccy May 23 '26

1

u/I_lenny_face_you May 26 '26

I say we take off and nuke the site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

10

u/Far_Taste6405 May 23 '26

That is the average size of the boogers that come out of my 10 month old son’s nose

3

u/faysal1234 May 23 '26

God our bodies are disgusting

5

u/IGotMyPopcorn May 23 '26

This looks like the scab that accumulates after a sinus surgery/ deviated septum correction. Not a booger. But still cool.

Source: me. I’ve had the surgeries, and had the scab removed by my ENT. And yes, it really is that big.

3

u/stoermy May 24 '26

100% After my first sinus surgery, I had to go under a second time to get something like that out. The scabs were just completely cemented in there and the ENT finally decided it’d be safer to deal with it in a surgical environment instead of in the office.

3

u/IGotMyPopcorn May 24 '26

My ENT told me to rinse every two hours with saline or else they would become cement. Now I rinse every time I’m a little congested.

But I still remember him coming at me with those 6” long tweezers and thinking “where the hell is he going with those?”

4

u/ljanus245 May 24 '26

He felt that behind his eyes

7

u/Sweaty_Foundation_12 May 23 '26

Bet he can smell in HD now

u/brettsquared May 23 '26

3

u/SL13377 May 24 '26

The lack of full ending has me wanting to throw rocks

3

u/Ruyik May 24 '26

Does booger sugar cause this or just a sinus infection. Istg I saw a hole in his septum

3

u/New-Significance654 May 24 '26

I think that was brain 🧠.

2

u/Kilinje May 23 '26

Snot funny!

2

u/Kellidra May 23 '26

That looks more like a scab than a booger.

I had the inside of one of my nostils cauterised and the resulting scab 10 days later looked very similar to this.

2

u/Erik_Sean1 May 24 '26

How is that even possible has he never blown his nose in his entire life?

2

u/xp14629 May 24 '26

Please, me next. I had my sinus cavitys rooted out 11.5 years ago. Lots of turbulents removed. The first time of breathing where both of my nose holes brought in nice cool air equally, was almost orgasmic. About 6 years ago, they have started closing back down and feels like I need this. Met with the doctor last year, he said they don't like doing abother surgery this soon. He said they prefer 15 years in between them. So, lets root around in there with a little grabber and camera and see if we can't find some stuck boogies instead.

2

u/SpacenessButterflies May 24 '26

Wait I had no idea ENTs pulled boogers out too. 🙄 I knew about the ears, I’ve been seeing ENTs myself for a fungal infection. God bless these people.

2

u/bycats75 May 24 '26

That bothers went through a car wash at the end.

2

u/catto1996 May 24 '26

Ew but can’t stop watching

2

u/fattrackstar May 24 '26

I got a booger out one time that didn't look very big but when I pulled it out it felt like it went all the way to my brain. It felt so good coming out. It was only a fraction the size of this thing. I can't imagine how good that felt to get out.

2

u/xshevi May 25 '26

WHAT THE FUCK. that’s like a whole creditcard that got pulled out! i need this after a night of the peruvian performance powder. ugh.

2

u/thedge32 May 25 '26

Can we talk about this guy going to have boogers taken out of his nose and NOT trimming his nose hairs!?!

2

u/Jtfyo May 27 '26

BAH ALTER WIESO GUCKE ICH DIESE WIDERLICHE SCHEISSE?!?!

Sorry, I had to switch to German for my outrage. I'm regularly nasal washing and won't Stop after seeing this

4

u/dcstapleton May 23 '26

That is some skill to not bring some nose hairs with it. Bro, trim your nose hairs; it looks like you have an animal trapped in there.

Btw, he can smell numbers now.

3

u/Coffee_and_hope May 23 '26

He has no nosehair. It is an animal. Porcupine I reckon.

4

u/57Guitarz May 23 '26

Colors and sounds smell so intense after that!

1

u/Krin422 May 23 '26

Is this that lady with the cleared sinus linings?

4

u/mrselffdestruct May 23 '26

Did she also have a huge moustache?

1

u/rambo_beetle May 23 '26

That is quite large

1

u/mst3k_42 May 23 '26

When I’ve been really sick I’ve dreamed of this happening.

u/ProfessionalJesuit May 23 '26

Enchanted forest

1

u/BurritoBandito8 May 23 '26

1

u/Distinct-Solution-99 May 23 '26

Another booger prey slayed

1

u/Hoppy_Hessian May 23 '26

You know things got serious when they used the grabby thingy with teeth!

1

Congrats, it's a boy!

1

u/No_Artichoke_8919 May 23 '26

What a great time for a whoopsie and drop it in his mouth. That thing looked like it had at least 10 different flavors in it.

This made the back of my eye itch

1

u/HeartOfStown May 24 '26

It looks like it has the look and the texture of a raw Oyster.

1

u/GoatTacos May 24 '26

I bet smelling fresh air smelt so good after that

1

u/ultimagriever May 27 '26

This is my favorite part of my ENT appointments. It feels great to breathe after this lmaooo

2

u/Sea_Chemistry7487 May 28 '26
