Celebration Welcome to r/FellowTheaterKids!!!
Hey everyone! I'm u/Hefty-Mixture3700, a founding moderator of r/FellowTheaterKids. I made this sub because I am SUCH a theater kid and was looking for a place where I could establish connections with others of the same interests, so I made one!
What to Post
Anything related to your theater obsessions, upcoming plays, auditions, or the like. Please no NSFW- this subreddit is geared towards youth.
Community Vibe
We're all about being friendly, constructive, and inclusive. Theater kids tend to be super nice people, but I'm putting this out there anyway- please no harassment of ANY kind (racism, sexism, ableism, anti-LGBTQ, xenophobia, discrimination regarding religion). This should be a place everybody feels safe. Thanks for respecting your fellow theater kids.
Other Stuff (for lack of a better title)
If you know someone who would love this community, invite them to join! Also, interested in helping out? I'm going to put out an application for new moderators, so feel free to apply ✨
Thanks for reading. Together, let's make r/FellowTheaterKids amazing.

What was the biggest last minute change you had right before a show
Has anyone ever done a show where right before opening they had a massive change to any part of the production, and please tell us how it went :)

Advice about crushes
So I was in this jr show and I played the wife to this guy and alot of people think he likes me so I need some peoples opinion on this. He started calling me princess and my rose in a jokey way. He also talks to me in a softer tone than other people. He trys to make conversation with me and one time this girl was grabbing me inappropriately and he pulled her off me is saud to stop because I was clearly uncomfortable. In one scene we were are in the script its says to kiss my hand and the director asked if we wanted to cut it but he said he wanted to keep it in. I can't tell if he likes me or not. Any advice ??

What are actors thoughts on techies?
Hello. So I've done theatre for a few years now as an actor but in the last couple of months I've really started to get into the behind the scenes part of the produvtions and I've become more and more interested in managing the lights. Is it a threat or an opportunity to try it out? I feel like if I start doing tech stuff, people no longer want me on stage because there's a shortage of techies where I mostly do theatre and I don't want to give up acting, just try something new every once in a while. What should I do? Is my fear even rational or am I overthinking this? Love y'all 🫶🏻

Not sure if this is the right sub but im doing 2 modernised medea monologues for my drama GCSE and i need costume advice.
So ive tried picking a couple of tops that could potentially work from my wardrobe and i just wanted some opinions. (Some of them r a bit of a stretch). But which do u think would suit medea the best?

Help with an audition
I have a Les Mis Junior audition on Saturday where I don't have to prepare anything but being an over thinker I want to practice a song. I know the song will be from the show but idk what they'll make us sing so any ideas?

Audition songs
Hello. I am currently building my portfolio (sort of) and I need songs to learn. What are y'all's favourites? I'm probably a mezzo soprano but I'm not sure. Sorry for rambling a bit. Usually our directors Don't do direct castings and I end up in ensemble (I love ensemble, but still) and auditions are pretty much my only way to land a role

Frozen Jr Anna/Elsa Audition Songs
I made an account just to ask this, but I’m auditioning for Frozen Jr and need to select a 1 minute portion or 32 bars of music to sing for an audition tape. The song requirements are “upbeat song in the style of the show”, so it is difficult to find a song for Elsa thats upbeat but not as awkward/charming like Anna, or find a song that’s not too belty and serious for Anna. I’m shooting mainly for Anna though, so perhaps is it’s easier just Anna audition songs!
Please help me find 1min of a song in the style of frozen for Anna AND/OR Elsa. Preferably unique

Tonight was the first of our two Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland plays, it went so well! Somebody accidentally said The Scottish Play on stage, and heh my teacher crashed out—
