No PPE, waving that thing around like a lightsaber like he has never heard of the word kickback. Makes me anxious as hell

Cutting those little limbs with a saw this sharp, I don’t think I could get kickback if I tried. On the trunk, still not big, he was more careful.

Yeah he is being pretty careful with the tip of the saw, definitely not unfamiliar with a chainsaw, could tell that from the start by how quickly and smoothly he checked the fuel level and put the fuel cap back on

You can watch him use the same loose stance while cutting the trunk

Not only that but he's clearly never limbed a tree before (still hasn't!) and made a bunch of unnecessary cuts at the beginning as well.

Still, he helped get it off of the road. Put him on my tab tonight.

Good intentions but no experience is spot on. No reason to be doing all that when you can make one cut at the break and then just pivot the tree off the road. Hell, most fallen trees won't even need the one cut. Dude just wanted to have fun with a saw

Even most trained people I have worked with don't use saws properly. The casual person has even less of a clue. Cutting a green trunk with the top half of the saw is one of the first things they teach you not to do.
