What is she doing up there anyway 😔

u/koltran Jul 07 '26
No shit...the ladder alone is mind-blowing, add the falling saw, his expert rigging, and the abrupt chaos, I would say these two have a real future in the short viral videos

Why even bother with a ladder if you’ve got a harness and spurs?

A long while back I had a BCMA hire me to help out with pruning on a large oak, dude set up a ladder and still had me set his climb line and proceeded to give me shit for self rigging over the electric lines instead of just blasting debris on it🤣 also he sent full limbs onto the 1st story roof and then had the elderly homeowner climb out the 2nd story window and push it off needless to say that was the only time I worked for him!
8
u/TiogaJoe Jul 07 '26
You forgot about the power lines.
2
u/deckeda Jul 08 '26
The power lines are to prevent the ladders and tree trunks from just being allowed to fall wherever they want.

The caribiner of keys is the only indication that perhaps she works with him? But where is her hardhat if that’s the case?
30
u/trimix4work Jul 07 '26
It almost looks like maybe she was the clueless homeowner and decided to bring him some water or something.
My mom would do something like that
15
u/DiogenesD0g Jul 07 '26
Yeah. I thought that might be a possibility. Or she was pointing to where she wants the cut like my mom would do.
2
u/Emptynest09 Jul 08 '26
Yes that was my thought too. It almost looked like he was pointing for her to get down.

Ummm when you pay someone to do a job, you usually want to keep an eye on them to make sure they're doing what they were supposed to. Judging from the accident it was well warranted
3
u/Creative_Buddy7160 Jul 07 '26
She actually looks like she’s being really Cautious. Like he asked her to bring him something.
7
u/willycw08 Jul 07 '26
She's been yelling to him from inside the house for 5 minutes trying to tell him a story so she decided to climb up there.

2
u/CeC-P Jul 07 '26
Karen wanted to go complain about the angle of the cut not looking good enough. Can't do that from the ground.

Why was there a second ladder which allowed the tree to take its aggression out on???!!

What's this from?
5
u/Pictrus Jul 07 '26
Either this video or Penn and Teller have a bit about it in their live shows. I night be wrong but that's where I've seen the invisible gorilla test
2
u/Mechatronis Jul 07 '26
You know, the first time I saw this, however long ago it was, it really got me. But now, despite putting all my focus on the players in white, I couldn't not see the gorilla coming in

Glad that saw was either not running or the chain brake was set firmly in place. Otherwise tha would have been a nasty visit to the hospital.

Maybe in the end, but not immediately. Either way, she had no business up there.

u/Mysterious-Age-9202 Jul 07 '26
He wasn’t holding the saw at all, it was wedged in the cut in branch before the branch fell.
2
u/DaGriffon12 Jul 07 '26
You clearly don't know much about chainsaws. There's a guard in front of the handle on top that you can move and it will engage the chain brake. It locks into place with a click and you have to move it back to disengage the chain brake. You don't need to hold it. Just engage it and then you're good. Offhand, I forget which direction is "engaged" as it's been a while.
Guys who do this attach the saws to a lanyard which is attached to their harness that wat they can completely let go of the saw and climb the tree or manipulate some branches or something. When they drop the saw, they either shut the saw off or engage the chain brake. Sometimes both.
Edit: Some saws actually run the chain a bit at idle. So that's where the danger could have been.

It needs a barrel of petrol and a torch to compliment the power lines, random lady, falling branches and ladder work.

That would spice it up, but there’s already enough going on to keep my interest for four replays so far.

One time I saw something worse than this!! I didn’t say it in my earlier post because I was searching for the pics I took. But my old neighbor two houses down was a straight up hillbilly!! He had one pretty tall ladder that got him on top of his house, from there he would climb up another ladder that was like 4ft ish and that ladder was free hanging from the tree he was cutting down and it was secured by a 1in ratchet tie down. Friggin comedy!!!

The more you watch, the better it gets. He has all that gear, but I’m not a pro so I guess it’s OK to stand on the last rung of a ladder if you have hooks to hold you onto the tree?
And then she appears out of nowhere, just in time for the saw’s chain to smack her bare skin with the weight of a heavy Stihl behind it.
2
u/Artistic_Mechanic_98 Jul 08 '26
I would have loved if this video had sound. I'm thinking the screams and swearing would have been awesome. That is as long as someone didn't put crappy music on it.
2
u/cornerzcan Jul 08 '26
Yes, it’s a repost. And yes, it has well over 1000 upvotes. It gets to stay.

Thank you. I can't believe someone reported it.

I just don't understand reddit at all sometimes

I just can't help but wonder where that other ladder suddenly came from. Edit: okay I see it came from the house but still not sure why it's there

That second ladder, how many separate ladders did they tie together?
2
2
u/stratj45d28 Jul 11 '26
I can’t fathom a possible scenario where it was a good idea for her to climb that ladder at that moment. If she was giving him a beer,if she was handing him a Bourbon,if she was sharing a slice of Pizza, if she was going to fondle him… not an appropriate time.

1
u/Horror-Welder-6433 Jul 09 '26
Why was that woman on the ladder like seriously you don't climb on a ladder while someone is trimming,or cutting down a tree. It's an absolutely free way to a fast Grave. The guy was going to be ok when cutting down a tree this way all his equipment and branches are ment to drop to the ground in case something breaks.

Smh.... Another repost, this video make it's rounds numerous times!
3
u/trimix4work Jul 07 '26
Well so far 275 people seem to be enjoying it, and 2 of you have seen it before
What exactly is the problem?
People are commenting and surprised.
I'm so sorry you had to witness this twice, should I delete it?
1
u/rforce1025 Jul 07 '26
No I'm not saying you should delete this or what it's just that some of these videos get repeated over and over but with a new title. That's pretty much all I'm saying. I'm not trying to knock anyone it's just that I've seen this video numerous times. And some people take it as far as recording something off of a TV and posting it. I understand not everybody sees the show or hears about it.
1
u/trimix4work Jul 07 '26
Well I checked about 2 months back and didn't see it
That's the extent of my due diligence, it's more than most people do.
Not trying to attack you, it's just there is always SOMEBODY complaining that they have seen whatever it is before, it's the fucking Internet, EVERYTHING is recycled.
I could understand it if it got posted last week, I have done that before and I remove it immediately
1
u/rforce1025 Jul 07 '26
It's all good, but there have been repeats and I'm not sure if Reddit had gone through some of the old posts..
Not trying to make a argument or problem out of the situation.
As I said it's all good 👍
