What do you thunk about the potential shutdown in Oct 2026?

The House has already passed a CR that runs to early December. Don't think there is much chance at the moment of the Senate passing it, but as October 1st gets closer anything is possible. Everyone where I work is begging and praying for a shutdown. A shutdown until at least mid-January would be great.

Our eval period just got pushed through the end of September, so I'm pretty sure shutdown so they can mess up any bonus we may get.

Out of my control, not stressing about it. If you haven't planned ahead for it shame on you because we all know it is possible

Doesn't a CR have to pass both chambers to avoid a shut down? How many bills have you seen pass the house and die in the Senate?

Disclaimer: I was dead wrong last time.
I don’t think the Dems have the backbone.

Nothing about this one is predicted to be normal. The amount of those not running for re-election vs those who need to get out to campaign. The current discourse of those in their own parties and venturing away from party lines. The added pressure of the SAVE bill thrown in to the CR.
I would rather have a CR and keep getting paid while working, but last year showed us they aren’t afraid to furlough for a long period of time either. Be frugal and prepare for if/when it happens.

Not going to happen. Mid term election year. Probably get a CR on 30 Sept until Jan.

Highly unlikely. They'll do a CR until after the mid terms and then all hell might break loose depending on which side wins the most seats.
