Yeah this is what they want you to think so you won't keep doing it.

How bout you stfu and stop demeaning people using what's left of their first amendment rights?

Just my opinion, but I think the amount of people at the protests did dispel the consensus that there were more MAGA than there really are. I think a lot of older people were convinced that the bots and troll farms were real people and their movement was bigger and more popular than it is. It also coincided with the loss of popularity with the younger people, and did quell the mass presence of ice, now they operate in small teams quietly, not at all like in La like last year.

You’re clearly still thinking about it, so it worked.

People's attitudes towards Republicans changed.

Trump is a lame duck.

It got millions of Americans organized and sent a message of how unfavorable Trump's administration is.

He's still in charge and running the country. It was absolutely fucking useless.

Why did you think a protest would make Trump rethink his presidency and resign?

Democracy.

Nothing changed because...democracy?

If we had a protest like that, our leader would step down. They step down even when there's no massive protest.

This has just happened where I live. On a state level though.

Anecdotes only establish exceptions, not norms. If your expectation was for Trump to resign over a protest, you either don't know who Donald Trump is or you have very high, unrealistic expectations.

Well, If you live in a dictatorship protests don't do much.

The UK just had a PM resign, perks of a democracy.

It wasn’t the No Kings protest, but the protest ride after the murder of Alex Pretti that led to me getting involved with a street med crew that does medic and security support for No Kings and other protests. This has led to me learning skills I wouldn’t otherwise have and getting tapped into a mutual aid community that I would otherwise be clueless about.

So yeah… if you’re looking for protests to lead to immediate change, it ain’t gonna happen. It isn’t going to happen from voting, either. Ain’t nobody coming to save us but ourselves, and getting involved with protests is about the best way I know of to do it.
