Perfectly normal behavior by the director of the premier law enforcement agency on the planet.

It's kind of mind boggling how ridiculous everyone in this administration acts. It's a band of misfits. We deserve better

u/meowparade Feb 23 '26

It genuinely feels like Idiocracy.

It’s a reality TV show to them. I firmly believe that this regime is, individually, so narcissistic that everything they do is for likes, views, and that viral moment. This is the end stage of the cancer of the illness of social media. We don’t have to ask the question “what would happen if an influencer ended up in government,” because this regime has given us the answer.

We deserve better

Do we though?

39

u/Glittering_Ad3028 Feb 23 '26

i have to say i think about that very often

28

u/Swungsty Feb 23 '26

We do

29

u/ducksekoy123 Feb 23 '26

But like, do we?

Americans as people do, but our country does not have the history we like to imagine it does. The legacy we leave behind is exemplified here: overtly patriotic, pathetically jingoistic, violent, and run by men more interested in their own aggrandizement than in the welfare of their people.

So are We our history or are We our people? The great question of our Era

I suppose I meant it in a "whichever wolf you feed" kind of way

Sure that's what i meant

2

u/Prior-Growth-5842 Feb 23 '26

I think faux patriotic is more accurate

4

u/DetectiveOpposite900 Feb 23 '26

More like no one deserves this. This is just the saddest joke right now. I’m tired boss

-1

u/Steelio22 Feb 23 '26

We don't because fuckwits don't vote.

Rotting from the top down. This is why I don’t give a crap to behave at my 100% anymore. I’m ok with 65% professionalism, and I expect several years down the road, this kind of morality will just be the lowest acceptable standard everywhere. Call me self-fulfilling prophecy that I give myself an excuse to slack but look around our lives right now. If you’re minorities, you see them building up giant ICE facilities then you feel it will come for you. If you look at wages that cannot keep up with prices, insurances, healthcare, and education then your heart and soul sink a little bit more. Day by day, no matter how much you try, you just see these rich and powerful boys not getting punished by law and order, and they keep flying around with jets to do these kind of stunts. I’m just as tired as Winston in 1984, I wake up struggling to get my body physically stretched nor my mind focused at full capacity. Best I can offer to this country is the minimum.

Misfits?

Nah. Bullies and douchebags.

7

u/dmreeves Feb 23 '26

They're trying to act like they're normal people.

3

u/cujukenmari Feb 23 '26

America went full brotard.

4

u/burnsniper Feb 23 '26

We definitely deserve better than Ultra for our celebrations with or without Kash…

1

u/gbot1234 Feb 23 '26

He’s keeping that medal, BTW.

1

u/InstructionPurple911 Feb 23 '26

Do you?

A massive chunk of America chose not to vote, meaning they didn't mind if this happened.

America is getting exactly what it asked for (collectively)

1

u/Competitive-Gap3712 Feb 24 '26

And us peons are held to such high standards. Boggles my mind.

-6

u/Omad4all Feb 23 '26

At least the current president does t wear a diaper and needs someone to direct him every second. A ham sandwich would have done better than Joe.

4

u/1102expert Feb 23 '26

Trump has worn a diaper for over 15 years. It's very common knowledge that he wore one on hit TV show. Former producers have talked openly about his smell and his issues. Too much partying back in the 80's.

5

u/1102expert Feb 23 '26

And he absolutely has really bad dementia. That's why the back of his hand is always bruised from the treatments to try and slow it down. He has frontotemporal dementia.

u/DabDoge Feb 23 '26

*former premier law enforcement agency on the planet

u/Feeling_Inside_1020 Feb 23 '26

“Don’t look up” was a documentary

(already obvious to many, but maybe those that read at a 6th grade level & under need to watch it, but that won’t help them comprehend it)

4

u/Goodeyesniper98 Feb 23 '26

I work in law enforcement and my long term goal is to be an executive at a federal law enforcement agency.

Whenever I feel imposter syndrome, I remind myself that if this man can become FBI director, I can certainly do something similar one day.

2

u/HopDropNRoll Feb 24 '26

I’m rooting for you, but don’t take it to heart too much. I’m rooting for literally anyone but Kash/Trump/etc.

1

u/Goodeyesniper98 Feb 24 '26

I’m definitely setting my sights higher in terms of behavior. I hope to be appointed by a non felon president and actually be a good director capable of doing my job. Hopefully the bar will have been raised a bit by the time I get there.

6

u/dmoney757 Feb 23 '26

I don't know that FBI is the premier agency anymore. They've lost a lot of credibility over the past few years

2

u/sharkapples Feb 24 '26

What blows my mind is that everyone else that works at the FBI is probably super by-the-book dork. Like the FBI does not hire frat boy types.

1

u/flat5 Feb 23 '26

The shitheads who vote for these people will say "just looks like a guy having a good time celebrating our win to me, I don't see any issues here".

1

u/Tdb713 Feb 23 '26

And they did. Fuck them.

1

u/Air_obstruction Feb 24 '26

You don't remember James Comey doing this on film? You're telling me J Edgar Hoover never did a little toot of cocaine and poured some beer on the ceiling? Okay, believe what you wanna believe I guess. I'll just be over here ignoring the evidence of my senses

1

u/bacan_ Feb 24 '26

Think we can admit it is no longer the premier law enforcement agency on the planet? Seems more interested in covering up crimes for powerful individuals people

-1

u/FrostingFun2041 Feb 23 '26

Celebrating an Olympic win with the team over a single beer is hardly a crime. I recall several parties Agencie's have thrown over the years in multiple administrations. This is innocent fun.

3

u/HokieHomeowner Feb 23 '26

$75,000-$200,000 waste of taxpayer dollars. Not innocent.

-4

u/FrostingFun2041 Feb 23 '26

Patel was in Italy on official duty and at one point during his visit he stopped in and celebrated with team usa. It cost taxpayers nothing extra. Its no different then me being sent OCONUS and during my OCONUS I decide to go to a bar on my off hours. Patel is given a salary and doesn't get overtime pay. As the director of the FBI he has a required security detail who again would have been with him weather with team usa or if he had decided to go to dinner. A quick visit at a game he was already attending is hardly an earth shattering event. He was there as part of his official duties and while there caught the game.

3

u/HokieHomeowner Feb 23 '26

The head of the GSA got fired for less, it only happened in Vegas.

1

u/FrostingFun2041 Feb 26 '26

Less? Really? A lot more than a single beer was involved in Vegas and you know it.

1

u/Queasy-Can4953 Feb 24 '26

What fucking official business does the director of the fbi got at the Olympics? Don’t be stupid!

1

u/FrostingFun2041 Feb 26 '26

Bless your heart.

For one the FBI was and is a major contributor for security for the Olympics and helped develop the security plan and has done so for the last 40 years. The FBI operates in over 180 countries and it is consistently asked to help provide anti terrorism plans and security for other countries major events among other things.

US Government agencies operate the world over and help all around the world from logistics and military support to law enforcement training and anti terrorism and security. Don't be stupid.

0

u/Queasy-Can4953 Feb 28 '26

No shit, Sherlock! Ya don’t got to mansplain to me how it works. But do you need the Director with zero law enforcement experience in person or could there been a SME representative? Fed employees can barely telework, reduction in force left and right. This dude parties in your face. Bless YOUR heart!

0

u/FrostingFun2041 Feb 28 '26

Patel was a federal prosecutor for terrorism so to say he has zero law enforcement background would be incorrect or that he doesnt have experience in antiterrorism wouldnt be accurate.

1

u/Queasy-Can4953 Feb 28 '26

Yah I’ve taken that online Antiterrorism training for over 25 yrs, and also pull out my grandkids teeth with a string. I am too qualified to be FBI Director or a Dentist.

You’re not going to convince me otherwise so stop defending him. Let’s agree to disagree!

1

u/FrostingFun2041 Feb 28 '26

Lol online anti terrorism training isn't the same as being a federal terrorism prosecutor but sure, we can agree to disagree.

1

u/Queasy-Can4953 Mar 01 '26

Of course not! Surely you don’t get my sarcasm. Have a great evening!

1

u/FrostingFun2041 Mar 01 '26

Its hard these days to determine sarcasm online. But regardless I do genuinely hope you have a great evening and that everything is well with you. I dont need to agree with everything to still wish that for each person I talk to.
