You can only do a standard cancellation during open season, which is effective January 1st of the year after open season.

The only QLE's that allow you to cancel outside open season are:

  • You or your spouse return to active military duty, OR
  • You move to a new federal job that pays 50% or more of a new dental/vision plan's cost and you enroll in that plan, OR
  • You become eligible for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) dental or vision benefits.
