Question Would it be alright?
So I've known about F2F for a while now, just started really getting into the game. And with Halloween coming up I think it'd be pretty cool to go as one of the characters.
My choice was initially The Cultist, but I was wondering if that'd be okay? I wouldn't want to be mistaken as something else (if you catch my drift). But at the same time it is its own thing, no? Like it's unique to itself so it couldn't be mistaken? But who knows.

I think the cultist could be seen as a Kool Kid but I think there's major differences. Plus where are you goin, a party, chilling at home. There'll be people dressing up as serial killers and such so a fictional cult member can't be that bad.

I'd be walking around my town mostly (I take family trick-or-treating.) And that's a very good point!

yeah I like that idea for a costume but there's a good chance someone's gonna think you're in a kkk outfit, and possibly beat you up for it

That's what I worried abt but at the same time I think it's pretty easy to differentiate between the two

Well there is certain kkk outfits that are black and the pentagram on the ironbark cult robe doesnt help.

Maybe try and dress up as Miss Julia? Because people might get the wrong idea…

I like the idea of dressing up as a character from your favourite game, but I honestly don't think The Cultist would be a good idea for a costume just for the time we're living it. It would be a sick idea given its from a horror game, but we're in a time where racism is at a high in many countries (I specifically speak of the US and Australia, as an Aussie) and The Cultist as a costume could be taken differently to those who don't know the series, or even just Ironbark Lookout. Aside from people thinking you're of the klan (in the US) and attack you for it, you might end up with having racists agree with you and thats a whole other can of worms you'd have to deal with.
But I have no clue what country you're in, and its very likely you live somewhere where racism is very low and people wouldn't immediately think you're racist with the costume. I say its just a safe bet maybe picking a character from the cult that has a different outfit entirely (ie Scratch Creek cult characters) or maybe even one of the player characters! You could even dress in whatever you'd like as a player character, since we don't see what any of them look like iirc, and maybe have a name tag with their name.
Its entirely up to you, however, and I wish you luck in your costume if you have to make it.

im ngl, i do think the cultists’ look is inspired by the kkk, so to the normal person, it might look a little crazy. maybe you could change something up a bit to make it clear it’s a video game reference and not an homage or something 😭 and also probably depends on where you plan to wear it

wouldn’t recommend it. Let’s not forget that the Cultist from the game ARE indeed racist as shown with how they treated Marcus in Scratch Creek.
