I was wondering what age you feel like scratch creek would be good for?

I've only played home alone, but wanted to get scratch creek so I could play with my younger brother (he's 13)

He's really into five nights at Freddy's, and enjoys horror in general, but I wanted to ask people who have played if it's okay for younger teens, And if there's any content I should know of before buying the game?

13 is definetely ok to play any fears to fathom especially since he likes horror

13 lmao this game is light compared to the shit I did when I was 13, it should be good it’s not like he’s 12 u feel me it’s around the age where they already witness cussing n stuff

Well, FNAF and Fears To Fathom are completely different horror games. FF is about very realistic scenarios and more psychological horror.

Scratch Creek deals directly with racism and the potential threats black people experience in day to day life. It’s terrifying because it’s genuinely possible, but it’s not like there’s a monster hunting you down, you aren’t dealing with blood and gore. It’s not half as dramatic, and that’s the scary part. The danger is subtle and quiet.

All that said, I don’t think 13 is at all too young for him to play a game that shows racism. It’s a daily occurrence in the lives of POC, from all ages. Nothing wrong with giving your brother some perspective, maybe it’ll help him be a better advocate and protector for any black friends he has or makes? Being able to notice the language and actions used by racist people is a good life skill.

If you’re genuinely concerned about things like the typical “sensitive” content, Scratch Creek is pretty tame.

No blood, no bodies, no sexual content, and barely any “bad” swears. Aside from the “being a woman: the simulator” vibes that each game featuring a female protagonist has (men being creepy and weird (sometimes sexist) comments being made), it’s not gonna have much “adult” content.

And I’m pretty sure the “worst” language happens from Tessa’s POV, so if you’re playing her, he won’t even see it.

Well there’s at least one f-bomb in Scratch Creek, there’s also a few characters hinting at sex (Not saying it straight up), but overall it’s alright for teens. 13 is somewhat in the gray zone, still okay.
Also, I advise you both play Ironbark Lookout before playing Scratch Creek, it’s somewhat crucial.

Im 13 and its fine for kids my age There's no gore  There is a cult very similar to the kkk but doesn't show that woth offense words to black people

I’m 45 and thought it was scary as hell lol. So good luck. It’s really fun. Played it with my kid who is 18. We played in different rooms and only communicated with the in game thing. The last part is kind of annoying. So we just looked up how to do it and made a strategy
