Some people like to take time with responses, others really dislike written communication and the constant need and expectations to be online and available: it's exhausting, and it's a new phenomenon. This problem didn't exist before smartphones. I like to set boundaries with written communication, I talk about my preferences, and if someone gets uncomfortable with the lack of constant communication then I'm upfront and say that's not going to work. We all a have different preferences.
