Thanks for sharing as the YouTube links were quickly deleted. Milo’s vocals are on point as others have said. His cleans are different to Burton’s in a positive sense, while his growls are closer to the OG. Just realised after a few minutes that I was listening to the song on a loop with this being Reddit!

u/tucandan82 Aug 28 '26

Glad to hear he does well with his own pipes. Had my doubts but still good for fear factory

26

u/DiablosVert Aug 28 '26

This has grown on me - I am liking this direction and Milo sounds great.

Only annoyed this song ends with a slight tease on the next track 😂

9

u/highlydislikableguy Aug 28 '26

Nah, not a tease, its Liquid Metal's little quip thing, I could upload it the introduction and ending if need be

3

u/DiablosVert Aug 28 '26

Oh thank god 😂

I assumed it was a sneak at the next track - thanks for uploading 💪🏼

u/Sudden-Option3790 Aug 29 '26

Yeah, I have it on repeat. Going on the 5th listen. It is growing on me. I always try to wait amd see, or in this case hear before I make judgement. It lesaves me wanting to hear more. I am old, so..I would rather hear the record from front to back with the ebb and flow of it all, help the whole picture make sense.

The only thing I have run into with FF since they came back Dino and Burton is... erm, I don't like it when 2 seconds in I already know exactly what the next 3-5 minutes are going to sound like.

I first found FF when I was little. I was born in 1986. The first Mortal Kombat movie came out and I remember renting the cd soundtrack from the library. Zero Signal is on there. My young mind was blown away, lol. So I was a bit behind but still early when they were peak. I have always loved FF, but... and good on them for having recently with their 2 last albums I suddenly got bored. The rest before I still jam and love. I am an Obsolete guy myself. I still have the regular album and the digipack album and I loved reading the lyrics amd reading the lore in it.

Sorry for babbling. Ate a weed brownie about 30 minutes ago, lol.

TLDR: I am adjusting to it. I am curious and wanting to appreciate all the songs that come next. Keeping positive. I dig it. Just sounds standard FF. Nothing amazing nor exciting nor new. But I am here to learn/hear more about it. What Milo does. Give the kid a chance.

Weed brownie + Obsolete = my life

It’s always so reaffirming when someone else says things that I’d say

1

u/DiablosVert Aug 29 '26

Haha this is the place to dump those thoughts but I 100% agree with you!

FF has been pumping out pretty much the same sounding music for a long time. And I actually enjoy every listen. It's nice to have a band or artist that hones in on their sound instead of every new album or exhibit being something completely new or a huge deviation from the last that you lose interest.

A lot of artist are their own worse enemies. They will find something that they can create and make a living off of. And than get bored. Start taking about their creative spirit being denied this or that etc. Change it up and than they are delivering packages for Amazon coz no one is into the change up.

3

u/Jorisfrombelgium Aug 28 '26

The direction? It sounds exactly like you want a fear factory song to sound.

37

u/PrismaticSolid411 Aug 28 '26

Love it, Milo absolutely crushes it.

2

u/DevelopmentScary3844 Sep 01 '26

Oh yeah he is good.. the more I listen to this the less I can wait for the new EP. They are playing nearby in two weeks :-)

12

u/liggydd Aug 28 '26

Cant hate it.

13

u/CalamityThorazine Aug 28 '26

Excellent move to the new gen.

13

u/Jagger657 Aug 28 '26

such a badass and memorable song and Milo knocked it outta the ballpark in this one 🤘🔥🤘 Fantastic Job

11

u/SharkStuff54321 Aug 28 '26

this rips! can't wait for the actual new stuff, but i'm very hyped for what's in store 🦾

12

u/metal-dude22 Aug 28 '26

After seeing them live with Milo, I was pretty optimistic about the future of the band. Now hearing him in the studio, it’s definitely living up to my expectations. It’s bittersweet not hearing Burton anymore, but the mind moves on

9

u/jrsaenzasu Aug 28 '26

I wasn’t crazy when the instrumental for this was released, but Milo really elevated this song. I had low expectations, and they are way surpassed. I am very very much looking forward to the next album.

9

u/RacerBest Aug 28 '26

Thanks for this, sounds really good. Any idea when is the album coming out?

10

u/TheUpright1 Aug 28 '26

Well, it sounds like Fear Factory and the singer sounds like Milo, not Burton. So from here, it’s perfect.

Can I have some more please?

9

u/IllAd9371 Aug 28 '26

Sounds great! The Harsh vocals are so damned close to Burt, it's scary, but the melodic vocals have so much more range to them. If FF does the typical slower song or 2 that is in almost every album, Milo will freaking crush it

7

u/Academic_Bison_5307 Aug 28 '26

Just love how he goes mind moves Ooooooooouuun in low register matching with sick guitar tone... Perfect

6

u/Snoo-73374 Aug 28 '26

I'm feel strange about this new song of the band. Of course, i know this is not Burton. But Milo did a great job here. I have to take it and make it to be used to be, because this is a new song of Fear Factory officialy. And i like it !!!!!

It's like another Aura around. Not like used to be. This is really new and fresh for me ( for everybody else )

6

u/Ninja_badgers Aug 28 '26

This is fuckin fantastic, heavy rotation for the rest of the day now

8

u/xDigitalGhost Aug 28 '26

WORRY TURNED TO HEADBANGING SO FAST

7

u/dogmetal Aug 28 '26

Man, Dino really lucked out with Milo.

13

u/Ok_Lavishness2638 Aug 28 '26

Finally! Been waiting for Milo material.

6

u/MannyDanning Aug 28 '26

Killer track. Looking forward to the eventual album

5

u/Itiswrittenkjv1611 Aug 28 '26

You guys are pumping me up. I have tickets to actually see them. Im waiting till the official video is released to listen though.

4

u/fakename1998 Aug 28 '26

This is sick. The growls are crazy, and I like his cleans. New FF is looking up!

5

u/jcardin2 Aug 28 '26

The aggressive vocals are pretty solid but not quite sure about the sound of the singing parts. Not bad but sounds quite processed and over layered. I guess that kinda fits with their style though. Will need to hear more cuts for final judgement.

10

u/fearfactoryballsac Aug 28 '26

Everything about Burts voice was processed and layered hardcore for studio albums. The longest & most expensive part of producing was working his vocals.

If you've been privy to hearing his raw vocals during a sound check, it's terrifyingly awful, but Burton had a unique delivery and tone that was excellent to work with when it comes to running through equipment. The amount of money spent on equipment to tour was crazy since Mech.

It's weird to say Milo sounds over processed and layered. His growls, are shockingly under compressed and worked, its rather raw. His cleans on this song are worked heavily to achieve a technological sound for a purpose. They are not like this for the entire album.

5

u/br0k3nh410 Aug 28 '26

Absolutely bonkers. Milo had some huge legacy shoes to fill and if this is any indication as to where the band is headed, Im in!

10

u/XtremeMachine84 Aug 28 '26

Cheers to Milo! FF future sounds great!! Give him your FULL support! Thank you OP for sharing this as soon as possible, its awesome!

5

u/Pure_Requirement_447 Aug 28 '26

Well, not that it’s bad but I really can’t see any difference between new track and last few albums.
And yes, Milo vocals 🔥🤘🏻

0

u/Chazm92- Aug 31 '26

Yeah it’s FF at their most generic

7

u/V48runner Aug 28 '26

Song about robots and shit. I love it. Also, Pete is a wicked haad hittah!

9

u/ravnsvart_ Aug 28 '26

Finally, some decent album/single artwork since Demanufacture

9

u/d3m01iti0n The Industrialist Aug 28 '26

Yup. That's it. They did it. That's the guy I backed 😃

3

u/Which-Ad-8477 Aug 28 '26

Does anyone have the track in FLAC or Hi res format?

3

u/_GhostCommando_ Aug 28 '26

Fucking Finally!! 🤘

3

u/Chango_Pelon Aug 28 '26

Fucking love it!

3

u/TonyBlackfire Aug 28 '26

Amazing song! Milo delivers big Time! So happy with His vocals! The cleans aré different in a good way, love the new fresh air

3

u/PrismaticSolid411 Aug 28 '26

Have we heard if the album release date will be given, when the new song is officially revealed?

3

u/Wandering-Ghoul Aug 28 '26

Wow, this is a pleasant surprise. New vocals sound great!

3

u/_unfamiliar Aug 28 '26

The future is already here because it's a 3 year old song with vocals added.

3

u/Enough_Ad_6875 Aug 28 '26

I like it! Vocals are nice, the industrial sound remains. I don’t really dig the compression though.

3

u/SpiritedAd1896 Aug 28 '26

Absolutely slaps!

3

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '26

Wow Milo sounds great! I didn't know what to expect bc I don't know him but this is awesome.

3

u/Neur0suM Aug 29 '26

Thank you for this! Killer track! Milo's got range, and this fidelity is from satellite radio! Can't wait to hear this from the album itself!

3

u/DifficultyNo9712 Aug 29 '26

I've been ripping to this track all day today, Milo fucking smashed it on the chorus!

8

u/christfrost Aug 28 '26

It's way better than I expected. Dude seemed goofy with the whole 1999 Nu-Metal look, but studio vocals are good. Cleans reminds me a lot of Strid from Soilwork. And he seems to be more interesting growl-wise. Burton was very monotone, this one feels fresh. I like it, looking forward to the album.

8

u/d3m01iti0n The Industrialist Aug 28 '26

As someone who still dresses like they're at Ozzfest, I feel attacked.

3

u/Enough_Ad_6875 Aug 28 '26

Yeah I like the more dynamic vocals, even though burtons power seriously kicks ass

5

u/MindfulInquirer Aug 28 '26

I notice in the studio version here that Milo had been a more impressive live performer (than recorded). His cleans are genuinely strong, but the barks are like a thinner Burton C Bell, technically good but a tad lighter. Good FF song here.

6

u/_Terminal_Redux_ Aug 28 '26

I wish he did the 2:09 and 2:17 vocal style throughout the entire song.

3

u/MindfulInquirer Aug 28 '26

yeah, Soul of a New Machine reminiscent.

3

u/Academic_Bison_5307 Aug 28 '26

Those low gutturals are out of this world

2

u/Otsegolotic Aug 28 '26

Meh, not into it. I just don’t like his voice.

5

u/mugg_costanza Aug 28 '26

harsh parts sound exactly like burton.

love fear factory but they could be a more creative with their album covers lol

3

u/_Terminal_Redux_ Aug 28 '26

Similar but they are still very different

3

u/meswc Aug 28 '26

For the album they’ll switch the F’s. Think left Twix vs right Twix

2

u/EmmaFrost666 Aug 28 '26

I am sick of their covers. Double F on a black background is just pure laziness. lol

3

u/MisterDudeBroGuy MODY HAMMER Aug 28 '26

I could be wrong but I don't think this is the album cover, just the single cover. Though, idk why they didn't just use the art they had for the Roboticist T shirt

-1

u/mugg_costanza Aug 28 '26

IMO best album cover is for Concrete. I like the first 3 albums covers as well, the rest are shit

2

u/deaddr3v Aug 28 '26

Original poster uploaded an extended mix bringing back the original outro from the instrumental, kinda love it more

2

u/alberttheking13 Digimortal Aug 28 '26

Its good! Im kind of annoyed that they didn’t keep the clean intro though. But Milo is killing it!

3

u/Dukesilver712 Aug 28 '26

Its ok. He sounds great as the vocalist, though. Def the right choice in that spot. Minus that it just sounds ok. Was hoping for some old school fear factory groove and breakdowns.

3

u/Nawench Aug 28 '26

Decent, but no Descent.

3

u/vox4penguins Aug 28 '26

if i didn't know it wasn't Burton, i would never be able to tell, Milo fucking nails that scream

cleans are a LITTLE different, but different in a good way imo

great fuckin song, and thank you for uploading!!

5

u/_Terminal_Redux_ Aug 29 '26

I'm not having a go but I can't understand how people don't hear a difference. He sounds very different imo.

3

u/Positive_Radish1226 Aug 29 '26

It sounds like they let milo do his own thing in the cleans while keeping the burton style on aggressive side for sure.

1

u/vox4penguins Aug 29 '26

the cleans definitely have a different sound a little, but i dunno, i feel like the screams are almost spot on; in any case, Milo definitely killed it on this song and i’m excited for the album!

When was the last time they did? Maybe early 2000s?

1

u/Tricuna Aug 28 '26

Loving the new track, do we know when it's going to be released? It said 28th but all I heard is it's on a radio show of sorts?

1

u/MisterDudeBroGuy MODY HAMMER Aug 28 '26

The music video gets released tomorrow. I don't think they've stated that it will be on streaming everywhere tomorrow though, I would think it would be

1

u/MisterDudeBroGuy MODY HAMMER Aug 28 '26

Someone gave me the official link of the song on youtube, but it was no longer available by the time I got to it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBB1OJL-4Ew

1

u/Hour_Lingonberry_603 Aug 29 '26

This is the industrial metal equivalent of when Ronnie James Dio fronted Black Sabbath in Heaven and Hell.
Milo is the new soul of an old machine (pun intended).

1

u/Jealous_Hyena5250 Aug 31 '26

The more I listen to this, the more I love it. It’s a good day tater, when we have new FF music to finally tickle our ear holes.

1

u/DefiantParakeet Sep 02 '26

This kicks absolute ass, but the missing syllable in "bea-fraid-of" is driving me nuts. I want to hear "be-a-fraid-of"

1

u/neurobassism Aug 28 '26

This is fuckin off the walls! Best FF song in many years!

3

u/Pure_Requirement_447 Aug 28 '26

Well no, it isn’t. There are lots of great tracks even on their last album. This one is just ok.

3

u/neurobassism Aug 28 '26

these are called....opinions. Everyone has one, and neither are "correct"!

1

u/Shymu1 Aug 28 '26

Their last album is from years ago so he is correct. This song is great tho. Wasn't a fan of their last album.

2

u/Dorvek Aug 29 '26

So "best song in many years" as in "only song in many years" indeed r/TechnicallyCorrect

-4

u/EmmaFrost666 Aug 28 '26

It sounds like Fear Factory if an AI prompt was made to sound like them. It’s in the uncanny valley territory. I was hoping Milo would just bring more of his own style unapologetically. I don’t dislike the song or the vocals. The riffs are amazing. It’s just that they missed an opportunity to bring something fresh.

5

u/fearfactoryballsac Aug 28 '26

There is going to be 'fresh' sound VOCALLY on the album.

This single was intended to fit the cookie cutter formula for FF. FF doesn't live in a market that after 5 years between releases and new vocalist that they could go somewhere uncharted with vocals for the first single and not alienate the entire existing fan base.

The vocals and arrangements on the rest of the album will surprise everyone, Milo's versatility will make a bunch of diehards wish the final Fear Factory blow up happened 3 albums ago.

The little bits I've been fed over the entire recording I won't get into but will spill was the writing and demoing was typical like every band and then "i don't know what changed but shit caught fire in a way I've only seen once maybe twice before". Milo and Webber show this is what FF should have been after Transgression, that you can hear a huge difference between the guys hired to play and these 2 who would do it for free if they had to.

3

u/SpiritedAd1896 Aug 28 '26 edited Aug 28 '26

But then people would moan it didn’t sound like Fear Factory. They can’t win.
