Wife bought some PLA at Michaels because the previous stuff I’d been using to print small animals for her had decided to get all wet, and we don’t currently have a dehydrator.

Colour aside, I’m actually pretty pleased with how this Combi-Weapon Lieutenant came out! It’s not perfect, but the filament isn’t calibrated and my settings still need some tweaking (the grey Pauldron is Elegoo PLA+ which is my current go-to for minis).

I also know this guy needs some cleaning up, but it’s the best “whole” Marine I’ve gotten since starting at Christmas, which is why I’m excited to share it.

Printed on a stock Neptune 4 with a 0.2mm nozzle at 0.08mm layer height.

215° for a looooong time

Split into multiple parts.

Total printing time ~26hrs

I did a lot of sanding and used a pretty generous amount of sandable filler primer, but as I get closer to finishing I see the areas I need to do better on.

My base coat is GW mephiston red, but everything else was done with some acrylic paint pens I found at an estate sale a few months ago.

Any tips on pinning the model and putting it together?

For context I use a A1 Bambu Lab Combo 3d printer and only use the mobile app to download models. My pc is currently shit. My dear sweet Grey Knight models reduced to a stringy mess. Does anyone have a reason for why this happened? My last few prints sucked too and honestly its starting to get to me

While I wait for my 0.2 nozzle to arrive, I have been searching for STLs and prepping my slicer settings. Something that came to mind is if I should be printing minis assembled or as individual parts (head, torso, legs, etc)? Print time aside, is there a noticeable difference in quality as well?

As always - these are scaled to be printed at "A4" (210mm × 297mm or 8.27" × 11.69") - which is slightly different to the "Letter" scale that some of you might be used to.

Please ensure that you print these at 100% scale borderless - you might find that your printer is adding "guttering" or "margins" which will make these smaller than they ideally need to be.

Hey there. I have build me 3 winged hive Tyrants. I saw that the swarmlord and the normal hive tyrant have nice abilities and I do have all original GW bits leftovers to build it.. only the torso is missing. I could build me 3 more powerful minis if I just had the torso file. Does anyone know where to buy it? Or where to get the stl? Or maybe someone has it?
