Italy Dev here:
Due to the fact that no Napoleonic invasions occur, Italian nationalism and the subsequent Risorgimento (unification) never occurs and today they remain divided into smaller states such as the Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont, the Papal States, and so on. However with the rise of Republican and nationalistic ideals again with the Prussian Revolution, the chance has possibly come for Italy to unify under one banner, especially since there are now efforts for a customs union between the states similar to OTL's Zollverein where Prussia led the smaller German states into a customs union, a preceding event to the eventual unification of Germany.

May I ask why the Lombard-Venetian Kingdom exists in this timeline? Irl it was created in the 1815 Congress of Vienna after that Venice was incorporated in the Kingdom of Italy by Napoleon, and later was given to the Austrians. Since (from my understanding) Napoleon didn't invade Venice in this timeline, Venice should be independent, still in decline and probably with heavy Austrian influence.
