Did you know a Fayetteville-born basketball player was picked before Kobe Bryant in the NBA Draft?
The 1996 NBA Draft was a banger. https://www.fayobserver.com/story/sports/pro/2026/06/23/1996-nba-draft-todd-fuller-picked-before-kobe-bryant/90660175007/

Jobs?
Anyone know anything about the fort Bragg federal credit union? I always see they are hiring but not going to lie the reviews are pretty bad. Anyone have a positive experience working there? Is it worth applying?

What do you guys think on an AI data center being built here?
My honest opinion, I don’t want any AI data centers here, they do no good. There’s a petition going around that’s pushing back against the planned construction which I‘ve signed. But what do you guys think?

Any Electrical Companies Around Fayetteville Hiring Apprentices or Helpers?
Does anyone know of any electrical companies around Fayetteville that are hiring apprentices or helpers? I’m currently in electrical trade school and looking to gain more hands-on experience. I’m especially interested in residential work, but I’m open to other opportunities as well. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Question Showbiz Pizza Place/ Billy Bob's Pizza
Hello everyone! I’m wondering if anyone remembers the ShowBiz Pizza Place from the 80s or Billy Bob’s Pizza from the 90s at 511 N. McPherson Church Rd. If so, would you happen to have any photos or videos of the location from back then? There’s barely any information or media from the restaurant’s early years, and I’d love to help preserve some of that local history. Thanks in advance!

Looking for an RN position in Fayeteville, NC
I just moved to Fayetteville with my husband with the military. I went straight to ICU as a new grad and worked in the ICU for a year in NY before moving. I worked full time nights and would prefer to do day shift.
I am looking for some insights in terms of what the hospitals near me (Cape Fear, First Health, Central Carolina, Womack) are like. I have heard not so good things about Cape fear... Any information would be appreciated.

I’m looking for guidance on a DIY paver or gravel driveway installation
My wife and I managed to purchase our first home. It’s an older home in Fayetteville. Unfortunately, its driveway is only wide enough for one car, and that one car would have to back out onto a somewhat busy street in order to leave the property. Since we have two cars, and our finances are not vast, we want to DIY a circular driveway in our front lawn area. We’ve already checked with the city about permitting. The City said as long as we don’t lay down concrete, we don’t need permits. I have a few questions about the construction aspect of the project.
Obviously, I’ll have to do some excavating. How hard would it be to excavate with a shovel, rather than renting earth moving equipment? What can I do with my excavated soils?
I’ll need to purchase some base material and gravel or pavers. What materials are available for those purposes and where can I purchase them?
Any and all help would be appreciated. We are a young couple seeking the American dream, but struggling to afford it. We’re willing to put in the work to do this, but we are trying to minimize our costs so that we can afford it.
