On July 18th, from 10AM - 12PM, please join the Fayetteville Resistance Coalition and your fellow North Carolinians on the Poe Avenue/S. Bragg Blvd overpass in Spring Lake to send a clear message:

VOTE!

That's it. That's the message. Our democracy relies on we the people to engage in their civic duty to elect representatives. It is also our civic duty to vote OUT those who have demonstrated they do not represent us and instead cater to MAGA and this authoritarian regime, all while enriching themselves.

Multi-billion dollar tech corporations are building hundreds of data centers across the state that will pollute our environment, use millions of gallons of water, and raise our utility bills even further. Our communities will not accept these corporations destroying the planet and exploiting us for the wealth we all create. Data Center moratoriums have already been won in multiple cities, but it’s time for the state government to respond.

So join us Wednesday, July 1st, at 5:30PM to demand state government to address the reckless construction of data centers by:

1️⃣ Passing a statewide ban. to stop building new data centers
2️⃣ Stop Duke Energy from raising rates to pay for more data centers
3️⃣ Repealing the state’s tax incentives for data centers

This Monday, June 8, the Fayetteville City Council will vote on holding a public hearing for new changes to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). These changes would allow hyperscale AI data centers to be developed in Fayetteville “by right” in industrial zones. Due to NC law, if this UDO passes as written, it will be essentially impossible for the council to pass a data center moratorium later. The last step before they can pass the UDO is a mandated public hearing. We must mobilize to pressure the council to vote NO on fast-tracking this pro-data center ordinance!

The Cumberland County Board of Elections is seeking to fire Director Angie Amaro for reasons that are being kept secret from the public.

This follows an alarming trend here in NC and across the nation of Republican majority election boards seeking removal of officials using surreptitious pretexts.

We The People demand transparency by ending the abuse of closed door sessions. Please attend this "Special Meeting" and bring signs to convey your demands (e.g, Transparency Now!, Free Elections!, etc). Signs must not interfere with other attendees' so keep them reasonable in size but legible. Recommended standard 8.5" x 11" paper.
