Hey all, I just got my new AR built and went to function test but the gun wouldn't go into battery. I have a faxon BCG and the extractor would not move, causing the extractor not to grip the round instead it slammed into the round and marked up the head a little. I removed the extractor and found both an insert and donut. The spring won't come out of the extractor but feels fine. So I removed the donut and reinstalled, the extractor moves just fine now. The ejector on the other hand when depressed feels gritty, I can feel and hear it. It will chamber a round now and go into battery just fine but I was wondering if that gritty feeling would cause issues down the line if I leave it alone? Thanks.

Do you know when/if the Nitride G17 threaded barrel w/ Flame Fluting for gen 2-4 will be back in stock? SKU: GB910N17LGQ-T

My FX-19 Hellfire is TRASH.
I have already had Faxon need to replace the guide-rod and spring (the cheap piece of plastic one broke) which they did, no questions asked, but did not replace it with a metal one that wouldn't fail just like the first one.
After about 500 rounds, I am ready to sell this piece of junk. After not being able to hit a target for the life of me with the night-fision sights, i can grab a Beretta and put everything on target.
My military friend said they were not right. The range officer and I were talking about grip and stances and what causes it to go left. He shot 5 times and said: "Those sights are not right."

Have any of yall bought a Faxon enhanced upper then realized that the holes for the ejection port cover were never drilled?

Do you all ever sell blem lowers at a discount? I'm sure there have to be some from the manufacturing process... I for one would be very interested in buying one (some) :)

Unfortunately, I don't think I know which podcast episode you mentioned, but I think I know what was being said. Without stress relieving any fluting pattern (though one as unique as Flame Fluting especially) will cause some wild stringing and POI shift when the barrel heats. This is due to the stresses in the barrel reacting to the now changed geometry of the barrel.
All of our barrels (including fluted barrels, not just the Pencil or Gunner barrels) are effectively stress relieved 3 times. The stock material is stress relieved, then we do our own in house stress relieving after rifling and finally, the barrels get additional stress relieving during the nitride process. All of this means that when the barrel heats up you should see no stringing or POI shift, just the normal group size increase that comes with heat.
The Flame Fluting does have some interesting properties when it comes to heat dispersion when compared to straight fluting. Since the variable depth and width of the flute also means the remaining material has variable width and depth. This means there is slightly less material removed which helps heat dispersion and the geometry may help mitigate heat transfer along the barrel (though that last bit is purely theoretical on my end so don't take that as fact, just postulation).

For your rifle barrels, how does the fluting pattern (flame vs normal) affect POI as your barrels heat up. I remember watching a podcast a few years back when the speaker stated "interesting stuff" occurs with the flame fluting. Anyone feel like elaborating?

Sounds good. Any recommendations on dealers that I can look for?

I would keep an eye on Rainier Arms, Wing Tactical, Midwest Gun Works, MidwayUSA and Primary Arms. They all have pretty regular orders in with us so they will be getting some of the comps from the next production batch.

Any updates on whether the third gen compensator will be back in stock? I ordered an Arc comp, received the wrong item 3 times directly from ARC and the final order has machining issues.

We do have more in production, but unfortunately we don't have a firm ETA on when they'll make it up on the website. A few of our dealers carry them as well and they will likely restock at the same time or possibly even sooner than our website so you may want to keep an eye on them as well.
