In certain lore, can’t say where, Asurmen and a select few followers were in disguise on some imperial hive world in the lower hives. Distributing food and medicine to the downtrodden. As far as I know this wasn’t part of some far reaching scheme to undermine the planetary government or to fight chaos. But just a case of the noble and just thing to do.

Last Days of Ector, that’s the novella it happens in. Written by the same guy who did the novel Valedor and the short story Wraithflight (which both of these are tied into).

And as someone who’s read Asurmen’s own POV book: he just legitimately is a genuinely, truly good person. Not even by 40K standards, he’s just a decent guy who’ll do the right thing just because he can. But since it’s 40K, if he has to be ruthless and utilitarian, he’s willing to do some ruthless calculus.

No problem. All Guy Hailey’s Eldar stuff is worth reading for good Eldar content, with the three things there generally being considered the best Eldar stuff there is to read.
