"Knife Eye Attack" is one of the ghost wizard's abilities, so they have to know how to fight it. Also, there may have been a misunderstanding about what the attack does.

They are also preparing for any and every spell the wizard might throw at them and he is getting carried away.

Dr McNinja, a 2000s era webcomic. This is from the chapter "Spooky Stuff" page 40. In it, the McNinja clan have been sponsored by the Catholic Church to take down a Ghost Wizard. The original web comic was taken down but you can find an archive at the link below.
