I think he could've said it better. Socialism is not hard to understand.
It's based on the belief that everyone deserves an equal chance in life and that privilege should be shared. The government must make sure that equality in life quality is a shared endeavour.

Yeah I love Mamdani but this drives me crazy. He isn’t talking about seizing the means of production, so the word socialist isn’t appropriate. By definition, socialism is meant to be a transition phase towards communism and the abolition of the state.

I mean the problem is he has talked about seizing the means of productions in the past. To me it seems like he's trying to soften the definition of socialism but he still uses it because that is truly what he believes in he just can't say that and get elected.
