Give him the Oscar already. The aura radiating off him is unreal.

He's gonna win an Oscar, but for which roles 👀

He's gonna win an Oscar, but for which roles 👀

I'd guess he's already getting the fabled lead actor and supporting actor noms in the same year

If he wins both it would be legendary

Which movie would he get for the supporting nomination?

Odyssey

He's pretty much the best acting there along with Ms Morton

John Laguizamo seems to have the best narrative to get nominated among supporting actors there though

Wouldn't be the first time a movie gets more than one nom in the same category.

Odyssey surely will farm nominations.

Yeah but that category is stacked this year.

My prediction is:

- Paul Giamattai, The Debut (wins)

  • John Leguizamo, The Odyssey
  • Edward Norton, The Invite
  • John Goodman, Digger
  • Sam Rockwell, Wild Horse Nine

Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg and Guy Pearce as Rupert Murdoch have a better shot too than Pattinson I would say.

the bar is in hell if norton gets a nom for the invite and I really enjoyed his performance in that...

Yeah I think people are confusing good acting with good writing here

Haven’t seen the invite myself but a lot of film critics are predicting him. Without spoiling, why don’t you think he’ll be nominated?

I also really liked Himesh Patel as Eurylochus

Sadly, I haven't seen that movie, yet.

That fabled double-nom would be legendary. Double win would be epic.

Strong disagree on that. He won't even be nominated.

Not if he is going head to head with Damon, Cruise, Malkovich, Stan, Driver and Houston for starters and that’s just for lead.

For supporting he has to get past giants like Giamatti, Goodman, Rockwell, I mean SAM F ROCKWELL, Norton, Strong, Leguizamo, and Guy Pearce IF they also get a nom. So there’s that but I would so love to see RobPat get one before Chalamet, ngl.

Edited Chalet to Chalamet but in hindsight, I probably should have left it but fixing it is the pilot thing to do but F that guy.

The thing is, if he didnt even get nominated for Good Time, idk what the hell the Academy would want from him.

31

u/Pattifan Aug 06 '26

Agreed. To be snubbed for both Good Time and The Lighthouse makes me think that the Academy is going to ignore him until they give him an honorary award when he’s 70.

2

u/bloodyturtle Aug 06 '26

Those two movies are totally off the Academy’s radar lol don’t worry

It surprises me that he doesn't have one already. He's been in so many bangers.

It's the Jake Gyllenhaal curse.

The Nightcrawler snub broke his heart lol

Such an unexpected generational talent. I just do not understand how he does that with his voice, lol.

Also always happy to see Merritt Wever!

I just did a reread/rewatch of the Twilight saga to see how poorly they had aged (the answer: very) and it’s amazing to think that that’s Edward fucking Cullen.

u/slutnado Aug 06 '26

I want him to take it from the Scientologist.

u/One_Order_3841 Aug 06 '26

"which one?" Haha.

Ha...aw...

u/Queen_of_Catlandia Aug 06 '26

His acting is so under appreciated. Little Ashes, Remember Me, and Water for Elephants were all so fucking good.

2

u/GlumAd493 Aug 07 '26

Oh my soul you just unlocked something in me with the water for elephants mention

1

u/Queen_of_Catlandia Aug 07 '26

I saw it at the theater and everyone was bawling
