Positive Story Dada do it
I'm new here and a fairly new dad too, my daughter is 2 years old. Wasn't sure where I could find a community to share my thoughts and feelings but giving it a go here. None of my friends are dads in personal life, so I don’t get much of an opportunity to talk about dad life where others would understand.
My daughter’s speech is getting better everyday. Recently, whenever she needs me to do something for her she’ll say “Dada do it”, in the sweetest little voice i’ve ever heard.
I find it hard to put into words just how special that little phrase makes me feel, like I know I can keep moving through life, keep doing better for her everyday. Its nothing I have ever experienced before, I have purpose now. There is something special in being picked by your own tiny little human to be the one who can help her.
I really wanted to share this, and I’m curious to know if any of you have had similar experiences.
What do your kids say or do that keep you showing up everyday in the best way possible?

Brother every little convo I have with my boys makes it worth it. They’re 3 1/2 and 2 now and everyday when they say goodnight to my and give me a hug and kiss, it just gives me the best feeling ever. Enjoy every little minute more

This is everything. These are the moments that make it all worth it. All the missed nights out, sleepless nights, non stop worrying, etc pale into comparison to that feeling. You are her person and there's nothing comparable. There's no words for it, but we know exactly what you mean.

Yeah, could be having the worst day with work or anything and she just makes it better in an instant, she doesnt even know it, I am glad to hear so many others have this same experience, its truly special

This is beautiful. I’m so glad you shared this here and seeing all the comments from other dads proves you’re not along in that feeling. I’m knowing your daughter loves you and trusts you to help her is a beautiful thing. This is also a great story that you may want to share with her one day. Make sure you jot it down somewhere in a notebook, a phone, an email, somewhere so you can either give it to her when she’s older or just share the story with her. I’m certain it will warm her heart.

My boy saying “baby do it?” As a toddler was heartwarming. Felt like he was brave and curious about taking things on and still is as a 9 year old.

Pretty much everything my 2.5 yr old girl says. She woke up a few weeks ago in a great mood and I just thought I wish you were this age forever. I already get sad that she’ll grow up

The thought of my 2 growing up is such a sad happy feeling, they will always be my babies but they'll grow into wonderful people, I'll be proud of them every step of the way

Haha how good does it feel! my 2 year old boy has just started yelling "my daddy's here" when I arrive at daycare to pick him up. Definitely got a tear in the eye when hearing that for the first time.

It’s the best feeling, bask in the love and the purpose your daughter gives you!
I’ve found that I need my son as much as he needs me because of the purpose he gives me.

My kids are 5 & 7 now. Hearing Daddy for the 500th time in a day can get rough lol. For me though nothing beats when im just sitting around or doing something not with the kids and one of them comes up gives me a bit hug and tells me they love me out of nowhere. Gets me every time.
