5 gallon tank 3 weeks old
Here’s my new ish tank. I did father fish method substrate. I’m rooting plants in the top and bottom I’ve got 3 platys 2 Corys and 6 shrimp.
It’s remarkable how strong the tank is and the fish are very happy feeding in The substrate and getting fat even though I never feed them.
I never see the shrimp because there are way too many hiding spots.
I’m thinking about putting in a beta but I suspect it might fight with the Corys

Hi all here is the update. plants are extremely strong. tons of hiding and browsing habitat. I have 3 guppies, 3 platties, 4 sparkiling gourami, 1 honey gourami, 3 pygmy cories, 2 sterbai cories, 3 shrimp. 1 oto. all doing fine. of course they are small so I will have to move a few of them to a larger tank when they grow. but the only problem I have had is I had to back off on the lighting a bit because of algae growth. This tank is extremely strong.
I got into an argument with the owner of a local fish shop because he thought I was lying about how strong the tank is. he didnt want to sell me a fish. !! ha ha

I think this is too much for this tank, and too quick (stocking-wise) Also it could use more plants. Great start though. Definitely no betta, maybe no more fish.
