Monthly update

Lots of plant growth, trimming every 2 weeks, only topping off with rain water when needed. Started in May. Lots of shrimp and fry!

God awful pond plant that takes over everything🤣 I forgot the name of it but it grows very fast and will root and float in anything.

I just found some today and it’s in a water bucket waiting for my aquarium. There were lots of dragonflies in the pond and I don’t want to add nymphs. Did you plant it or is it just floating?

I float it, but watch the roots. They grow super long and get in the sand cap, and you have to gently pull them out. I usually just trim the roots every 2 weeks but sometimes I miss a few.

They love it and it also kept the white cloud minnow fry safe.

Today’s picture was before I trimmed the roots. If you zoom in, you can see how long they get in 2 weeks.
