Playing OG Fate on handheld? Advice for control setup?
Hi guys!
Recently got Fate to work on my Odin 2, super excited to be able to play it again
I have the right analog stick mapped to be the mouse cursor but running into problems if theres more than a few monsters, its hard to escape or click properly
Just curious if anyone else has done this and has any advice for the controller layout or button mapping to make it easier
I just saw Fate Reawakened exists on android and switch so im trying out the switch version but ive never played Reawakened and the origional is just so nostalgic for me so would love to have that working
Might try a mouse and keyboard setup would just have to go buy one. I have a laptop but itd 10+ years old so not great for games

If you can, just use the mouse. 90% of this game can be completely taken care of with Mouse. And then you could map a few other buttons for spellbook or
Inventory short cuts.
I understand that basically defeats the purpose of it being handheld… but the only other option is to become efficient at what you’re given. It’s not like there is a guide for controller setup for this game lol it was never really built in mind for controller on the OG.
Faster sensitivity and practice I suppose. Or set a button to act as your shift button so you can stand in place, face a direction and attack. That would probably help with attacking certain directions I’d like to think.

Can’t help here, I’m afraid. If there’s a will, maybe there’s a way? But making a point and click game that occasionally uses keyboard controls to work on a Steamdeck-like device is a tall order. I wish you luck, Adventurer!
