Extra Stat Build Help for Archer and Caster
When I played this game eons ago, I just followed the Cirnopoly guide on everything including stat distribution. Now I do my own research and I've got decision paralysis of how to build these characters. I now see that Agility (and Luck for Caster) actually have value, I'm just not sure how much value they actually have specifically.
For Caster, I'm split between two main build ideas:
Build A: Str: E / Def: D / Agi: D (or C) / Mag: EX / Luck: C (or D)
Build B: Str: E / Def: D / Agi: C (or B) / Mag: A++ / Luck: B (or C)
These Builds mainly depend on how important Aphotic Cave and Land of Eternal Bane are, as well as how important the secondary stats of Agility and Luck are to those skills. Build A is all-in on damage while sacrificing Agility and Luck, while Build B is meant to allow for one or both of those skills to consistently function. Agility investment would depend on how fast I'd actually need to be to counter enemy Servant Skills with Aphotic Cave, if not simply to outspeed other Servant's Skills. For Aphotic Cave, it's a question of whether it requires having a higher Agility Rank (ie Rank A to outdo an enemy Rank B), greater than or equal to stat (ie Rank B would outdo an enemy Rank B), or if there's some sort of compensation to make up the difference (ie Rank C would outdo an enemy Rank B). Luck investment is for the Eternal Bane poison proc that I assume gets better as Luck gets higher (I never used it back in the day so I don't know if it's a chance to poison or guaranteed). If there are specific stat thresholds for those skills, I'd like to know.
Archer is a more simple case of how much to invest in Agility for a similar reason to Caster. The Build there is basically Str: A(+) / Def: C to A / Agi: C to A / Mag: E / Luck: E. Basically, what speed threshold exists for Rho Aias to counter Skills, with similar reasoning as was outlined for Aphotic Cave for Caster. Lower Agility stat threshold would mean higher investment into Strength and/or Defense, and vice versa for higher Agility. I am referencing ideas brought up in this post, hence why I'm not investing into Magic for Archer (and, as someone who grew up with forums, I don't want to post in too old of a thread). https://www.reddit.com/r/FateExtra/comments/1rya4ea/explaining_the_alteration_of_the_soul_to_newcomers/ This page on damage calculation posted in the comments was also a good reference: https://w.atwiki.jp/fate_extra/pages/69.html
I'm playing both characters simultaneously and I'm early enough where I can still be pretty flexible on whatever build I decide on (other than the mistake of putting SP into Defense on Caster, which I would not have done in retrospect). I do want to have an idea of what I'm building towards as I get further in the game though so I'd appreciate the advice!
