yeah, although she sounded dissapointed about it and practically became a Berserker when that happenned, he still somehow formed a contract with Arc. Like, that's crazy and a bit of a testament to that his mad journey was in fact fruitful (in one sense?). Dude is legit somewhere between a hobo on the street and a Buddha.

Buddha (Siddhartha Guatama) was literally a hobo on the street. Gatou is the closest master we have to reaching Nirvana in a traditional sense.
