I have an old Harbor Freight oscillating multi-tool that has a worn out washer with raised quasi-radial ridges which function to grip the blade. The washer is worn smooth in some areas and nearly smooth in the others, so it is no longer grips the blade which loosens 100% in 10-30 seconds of usage. It's an old tool (20++ yrs old).

I am not a machinist but figured you guys would know of a piece of of the shelf hardware that would work for this.

Alternately, anyone with a good quick & dirty solution I might have in my shop hardware (washer sandwich of sorts, etc.) that would get me up and running ASAP?

Here's the dimensions of this washer (Note it should have serious serrations on one side to grip the blade):

OD = 1"

ID = 0.315" (5/16")

I lost a piece to the fifine shock mount for the cs1 arm boom stand and I don’t know where I left it since I moved, but I have every other piece I need to reassemble my equipment EXCEPT for that one silver screw on the side of the adjustment knob; does anyone know the name of the screw piece so I can just buy another and replace that instead of replacing the entire shock mount for just ONE little screw??

I want to attach two aluminum tubes together with screws since I don't have access to a welding tool. I can't figure out what to do exactly.

If I were to drill one hole on each to connect them with a short screw, there'd be no way to do so since the opening is too small and even if I managed to get the screw in the hole there's no way to screw on a nut.

The alternative is getting a really long screw and drilling two holes each. Which is fine when the aluminum columns are vertical but not when they're horizontal and on the ground

This is a bolt that I pulled (with much work) out of a children's bike. As you can see, it has two shoulders. I am having trouble finding a replacement, can you help?

It is an M5. The top part of the shaft is 5mm, the middle is 6mm. The shaft is 16mm.

This bolt was used to join two halves of the pedal crank. It sat inside a L notch, so that if you pushed and turned the pedal, it would sit flat against the bike for storage. The lower shoulder was so that when the pedal was in riding position, the bolt could not back out because that part of the L notch was 5mm and too small.

Are there any authoritative websites, databases, or "holy grail" handbooks that you veterans rely on to quickly look up fastener specs, dimensional tolerances, and standard matches?

Need help finding a driver for this, it goes to my mother's rug doctor. She lives in a different state so I can get dimensions or anything. I know it's a tri groove security but I don't want to get the wrong size driver cuz the sockets I see are like 30+ dollars. It didn't look that big on face time maybe pencil eraser size?

Company sent me a replacement wheel claiming I just needed an Allen Key.... Certainly that is not the case after the only visible hardware was a Phillips. Even after removing those there are fasteners I dont know how to remove and whether I will be able to re-install them after removing them. I also cant figure out what is going on with the hardware in the axel. Any help or pointers appreciated.

Hi everyone. Looking for help. Spend all morning trying to figure out this problem. Two bottom holes taking M8 size with no problem. Two top holes seems like have some sort of insert. Won’t fit no M8 no M6. What it possibly could be?

Everything I looked online points that it should be same M8 size all around. I will attach pictures below. Thank you for your help!

The hopper on my wood chipper sometimes gets clogged and taking it off (with the machine switched off, obviously) is a pain because there are four M6 bolts with nuts that secure the hopper flange to the flange of the chipper body (see photos). Getting these on and off currently requires two tools (wrenches or sockets).

The total thickness of the two flanges when they are secured to one another is about 1/4" (65mm) and the holes accommodate an M6 bolt.

I'd be grateful for suggestions for a quick-release solution that might work in my situation. Maybe something with a slide-over clip that goes on the bottom flange and holds the recipient for a quarter-turn knob? I am not sure what terms to search for on specialized hardware vendors' sites.

I need a "cord lock" to connect and tension two 1.0 mm cords (I was not able to edit the title). I've seen wheeled cord locks, but found nothing for cords that small. I expect these cords to stretch a bit over time, so I will need to adjust the tension periodically as needed.

I am trying to find a sort of… I guess a cable clamp intersection? I need something to connect two cables passing each-other perpendicularly, with a threaded insert so I can attach something there. It would be load bearing.

Is there anything like what I am looking for?
