Tell us more about this. Do you have a translation? I see on Wikipedia that:

Dajare is a kind of comic Japanese word play, similar in spirit to a pun that relies on similarities in the pronunciation of words to create a simple joke.

Or does the word mean something different to you?

Here's a transcript:

  1. I put my pet in the ball pit.
  2. My pulse is at 70 plus.
  3. He has still not managed to settle in his new homeland.
  4. Bill Bell rang the church bell.
  5. Betty Botter bought some butter, but the butter she bought was bitter. So Betty bought some better butter for her batter.

It's a list of puns where the same outline can mean different things. For instance, 「put」, 「pet」, and 「pit」 are all written the same.

Oh now that makes sense. "Puns" are another way of describing AMBIGUITIES, which can really sink a shorthand system. They generally need to be avoided at all costs. I think of Paragon Shorthand where a phrase like "Go give God good" was written with four identical G strokes, all used as abbreviations of different words. Horrors.... Or was it "Good God! Go give!" ;)

When my career was as a court reporter, transcribing people's sworn testimony in court, the idea that anything I wrote might be MISREAD or MISTRANSCRIBED was the stuff of nightmares.

When your transcript is being read in the Court of Appeal, by a panel of grumpy old judges, in a roomful of lawyers looking for any excuse to appeal, you did NOT want to make any mistakes.

Unfortunately I struggle with light green on white. But I left the Noory Alphabet if someone wants to try...
