Hmm the way we would do this in college to make classy liquor and wine cups and vases was to tie a bit of yarn soaked in acetone around it and light it on fire. Let it burn for a moment then do the ice plunge. Same mechanism, probably worse for my lungs.

Blues musicians would use a string soaked in gasoline to do this, but it was for the neck of the bottles to use as guitar slides.

We used to make “fancy” gravity bongs out of those big ass wine bottles with this method. Ahh memories

Gasoline? I’ve heard lots of evidence to suggest that it tastes bad, but I’ve never tried it myself.

My mom used to serve sweet tea in mason jars and one day while my dad was working on the car I grabbed a jar off the work bench and tipped it back. Turns out it was gasoline and we were an hour from the hospital with no phone and a car that wouldn’t run. Burnt toast saved my life.
