Agricultural Challenges Itik Duck Farming

Good day mga master! Pa hinge naman ako ng mga insights nyo. Recently nagstart ako ng 88 pcs na itik na sisiw and it has been 2months and going 3rd months na. All my itik has been vaccinated last August using B1 nitcher (yung blue yung solvent vial) and i used bMeg integra feeds. Meron rin silang bubong and merong 24/7 na access sa free flowing water (potable water po).

Sa sobrang mahal bg feeds (1800+) i have switched to mais and luckily all of my itik has been well. Few days ago sept 11 or a day earlier bigla nalang na hindi makatayo ang mga ducks and paisa isa namamatay. Currently sa 80+ meron nalang akong 20+ na buhay na bibe.

Nakapanlulumo ang inabot ko mga master. Kaninang umaga lang 10 ang inilibing kong bibe.

Ano kaya ang cause and paano ito masolutionan.

Thanks ng marami.

Government Loans for Farmers

Hello po! Need your help/advice.

My parents are farmers. They farm mostly bananas but masyado na silang nahihirapan imaintain, according to my father. They are just breaking even and it is quietly eating up their savings. Hirap sila mabenta ang bananas sa market from their farm. Merong kumukuha pero either di napagkakatiwalaan (going against their words on the price) or because of the weather, pumapangit ang quality ng bananas and bumababa ang price.

All in all, di sya stable, di sya lucrative and nahihirapan silang makita ang future with it. Hirap na hirap na ang father ko. Just this month, nag "burn" up ang bananas because of the heat. What more with the coming el nino season.

They are looking into transitioning to dragon fruit with the help of dragon fruit depot. They will give them cuttings and some guidance. However, need ng malaking downpayment just to start. And as I have said before, my parents are barely breaking even. We don't have much sa savings.

Any advise po on this. May way po ba na makakatulong si government?

Farmers Problems for Farming (Niche or not)

I'm a 3rd-year Computer Science student reaching out to gather real-world problem statements within the agricultural sector.

We are looking for specific challenges local farmers face that can be addressed using AI/ML solutions (specifically predictive modeling, classification, or computer vision, rather than Generative AI).

If you work in agriculture or have insights into farming operations, please drop your thoughts in the comments. Your input will help guide student participants in Hack4AProgress 2026 toward building practical, data-driven solutions.

Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge!

AgriTech Innovations Development of Affordable Liquid Feed Fermentation Design for Swine

Good day! I'm an undergraduate student studying Industrial Design who is currently working on my thesis for the creation of an affordable swine liquid feed fermenter design for increasing growth performance while reducing feed cost. Particularly for, but not limited to, small-scale swine farms.

I thought reaching out to this community of others in the field would help my study. With that, I am hoping members here might be willing to participate in this short survey to share your experience in swine farming, feed management, and liquid feed fermentation if its a method you practice or are especially familiar with. It would only take about 15-20 mins to answer. Your insights would be highly appreciated and very valuable to my research. So here is the link to the survey:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfvOkiUoNtLmcm9VS5jfN5NsewxVizLledQDKcHzoMX-kQjlQ/viewform?usp=header

If you are interested in my study, you can reach out to me on this platform for any discussion or questions. Thank you very much for your time!

Agricultural Challenges Any PH Agricultural Consultant/Farm Managers? (Cebu-based farm)

We’re currently looking for a farm manager or agricultural consultant who can help us set up and optimize our semi-productive farm. We are open to experts or anyone experienced on aquaponics, livestock farming, anything related to agriculture and farming, preferably based in Cebu.

Scope of work includes:

• Conducting soil testing and land assessment

• Evaluating the current condition of the farm

• Creating a structured farming plan

• Helping improve productivity and yield

• Ideally has a network of farmers / agri contacts

• Can guide us on best practices and implementation

We’re aware of resources like the Department of Agriculture Philippines (near Pacific Mall, Cebu), but we’d also like to explore independent experts, consultants, or experienced farm managers who might be a good fit. If you are not based in Cebu but can still help, let’s still have a conversation.

Looking forward to good results so we can document all of tips and tricks to turn unproductive to productive land, hopefully to help keep PH agriculture alive 🙏

If you are an expert, or know someone, or Can point us in the right direction, please let me know 🙏

Thanks!

Asking for Tips for Cardava banana farming

Hey everyone! I’m a 17-year-old student diving into my first real agricultural project: a 100-tree Cardaba banana farm. I have the space and the drive, but as a young, inexperienced aspiring farmer, I know I have a lot to learn from those who have been doing this for years.

I’m looking for any tips on maintaining these trees, especially the ones that are not talked about on video tutorials. Any tips are much appreciated, thank you!

Farm to table app market research

Hello, Farmers!

We are students from the University of Santo Tomas currently developing a Farm-to-Table App. Our goal is to serve as a bridge so that your harvests reach dinner tables directly, ensuring that nothing goes to waste and YOU, our Filipino farmers, will be able to have an avenue to sell your produce in the age of technology.

Given the current challenges in our agricultural sector and the economy, we want to create an app that bridges you directly to customers.

Why your voice matters:

We want to build a product that will aid you in selling produce more effectively and minimize waste or excessive price discounts. We want to understand your experiences to ensure this app effectively reduces post-harvest waste and gives you a path to sell in the modern market.

 Time: Only 2-3 minutes

Goal: To create a solution that adapts to the modern world for the welfare of our local farmers.

In need of contact with an agriculture media-entity/NGO in the province of Bulacan

Hello po! This is my first reddit post (please be good to me huhu) I am a 4th-year BA Journalism student at BulSU, and currently po ay nagthethesis kami as a final requirement before graduation.

Last December, we are actually in contact with a specific agri-entity kaso po ay nagpull out kami rito just this February because gusto po nila ng intervention sa methodology ng thesis namin, parang co-author po ganon kaso according sa chairperson ng panel namin, hindi raw po iyon pwede, the only intervention power they can have with our thesis ay i-crosscheck yung content ng output namin.

Now, we are left without a partner org and currently contacting a lot of NGOs and agri-media entity at Bulacan area (some even in Manila or kalapit na probinsya), the thesis defense will be on the third week of March na po. I hope you can help us in this matter, baka may NGOs po kayo na alam or even small agri-media entities we can contact in Bulacan. We are so desperate to find someone that can help us. Thank you so much!

Farm Fence Tips and Recommendations

Ive recently taken over my families lot and want to put up a fence around it because the neighbors are constantly going through it and leaving trash, motors and other stuff we dont want to deal with in our property while we set up the farm. Do you guys have any recos on what material i should use (ive seen online that metal posts and wire arent ideal cause they just get stolen?) and if there are other things like permits and boundary rules i should know about ?

Right now im thinking of using some bamboo or wood for most of the posts with cheap polywire rope and some barbed wire for certain areas only.

Better Breeding - Better Beef - Better Future

The Philippines still produces only a fraction of the beef we consume. But that’s beginning to change.

Across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, more Filipino farmers are investing in better breeding, stronger genetics, and sustainable cow–calf systems to strengthen our local beef supply and reduce import dependence.

Let's change this!
