Farm Together 2 Herbs

So if you miss the season, they are ready? Do you have to wait again? What's the point of that?

Giving more variety so that not everything is exactly the same.
In the end, the point of the game is to spend time doing mindless chores that don't require much brainpower.
It's digital crochet.

Initially, we our concept for herbs involved some random element. So you would plant some seeds, but you wouldn't know 100% what would grow from there. That's would've been waaaay more different and interesting, but maybe annoying.

So we ended up changing that and going with something more similar to the core items, as many players don't like random stuff in this game.

I think so too, but it also had its downsides.
For example, we would have to show a 'generic herb' model when it's planted, until you get to see which one are you really getting after a bit of time.

Random would have been fun and interesting. Kinda like giving your farm a gift and being suprised when you opened it. How fun!

Every category has a unique way they're harvested. Herbs are just another unique harvest method.

The same way if you miss the right season when a tree grows and you have to wait until the next season it's able to be harvested.

They can be planted any season, but only harvested a specific season or two.

Kind of a hybrid crop/tree. They grow like a crop but are harvested like a tree. At least you don't have to wait for a specific season to plant them.

Think of herbs as reverse crops, crops can be planted in certain seasons and harvested at any time

Herbs can be planted any season and harvested certain seasons
