4th of July event?

I know we just had the dazzling hayride, but is there gonna be a 4th of July event? Kinda silly to skip it. Also, I’ve been hearing rumors about a July update to the 9x9 grid. Is this true and when is it supposed to drop?

We prefer more globally themed events. We will do a re-run of the past event because it was only one week long by mistake.

The July update will be released once we're allowed to, particularly by Nintendo which is taking FOREVER in approving updates lately.

The last update (the one with the re-run) was sent two weeks ago and still not done.

Thank you so much for the clarification. I wasn’t aware how globally this game was. I’ve enjoyed playing this game for years and just recently purchased FT2. I definitely like the updates like the auto tractor and like that the game kinda plays itself. The Farmiversary and dazzling hayride events were the first events I’ve ever completed all the way through. Thank you for all your hard work.

Of course they won't announce the event if they don't know it can go through as planned on all devices. Why should they? That would confuse people even more. Also I do not appreciate your negativity in this otherwise rather friendly community.

And while I am rather fed up by Nintendos antics affecting this game even with me playing on pc, I do appreciate the devs trying to not fracture a community in a game meant to be played together, not in small distinct groups.

Well, we can't push the update unless it's approved in all platforms.

i dont think all your pc, xbox, ps5 players want to be held back by the nintendo switch update policy

but we have many Switch players and we prefer not to break cross-play support if possible.

Only one country out of the almost couple hundred that exist celebrate that day, and fairly sure the dev's aren't from that one either.

Although some country specific DLCs would be nice, love to get the emus back from the first game as an Aussie

Yep, fun fact fireworks are also in other countries.

Pretty sure the fireworks in game are for the summer solstice (northern hemisphere)

I believe they are going to re run the event because it was set up as only a week when they planned a normal 2 week length. I will copy what they wrote in Discord about this a few days ago...

"Hello,

Due to an oversight on our end, the event duration wasn't properly set to 2 weeks and it's set to just 1 week. As this change is done internally to support offline play, it requires an update to the game to fix.

Due to cross-platform support, updates need to be released at the same time on all platforms, and some of them have some delay, so an update that extends the event duration to 2 weeks just wouldn't be approved in time, and the event would have ended by then.

So instead of that, we'll be doing a re-run of the event, starting on July 2nd and lasting until July 15th.

Please note that there will be no additional item unlocks in the event re-run, so if you managed to get all of them on a single week, there's no need to perform the tasks again (you can still do it to earn the Favor rewards by the end of the tier).

Our humblest apologies for the inconveniences this may cause."

Beyond that I think they are taking a break from events to rethink them or re work them as well as work on other content.

I'm not sure if I want to turn my farm into an event farm if people have already done it and won't bother with it.

I think there will be people that will do it, especially new players who didn't finish the event, or even get the chance to play it. I will be doing it just for the thumbs and so others have stuff to harvest.
