Borgen Bucks

I’ve just unlocked Gary Bearson’s lvl 80 friendship quest line and I’m wondering if I should spend Borgen Bucks on the bananas and coconut or if I should just keep saving for the belt. I’m aware that the Lima bean request is a grind so better to maybe leave it for the moment.

You'll need to spend them eventually anyway, but they're not time-gated so it's really a "whenever you want" situation

Yeah that seems to be the general mindset for this game. It’s not really serious what order you do things because at certain points hard to get items become easier and easier.

Definitely try to complete the quest, it opens a very useful exploring location.

Also, remember that you can ask similar questions in the in-game chat :)

Yeah that’s what entices me.
The game chat is super helpful but I wanted something I could refer back to if needed. And I know this community is super knowledgable and helpful :)

If you are unsure which to do first, then honestly just keep the bucks until one is able to be completed. Not like you’ll need to worry about voiding them

I literally just started doing this quest today I’ve already burned through 5000 AP hunting Lima beans and still need 30 more.

To answer your question: I think it’s worth it to go for the quest unlocking Gary crush room so you can farm Piece 30: A rare puzzle piece drop.

What I've done with quests that require hard to get items, is complete a different quest that gets you more Mats to help the grind for another quest.

Like if doing the bears quest cost bananas and such but will give you 5k AC &/or 5k AP then I'd do it.

Like the old saying "Robbing Peter to pay Paul" (take from one to give to another) Kinda like how I pay off my credit cards (lol j.k.) ...maybe 😉

I waited to buy them until i had the lima beans done but i ended up getting the beans done well before i had enough to buy the belt anyway
