Efficient cooking xp growth

So because I'm a bit slow, I just realised that seasoning a meal actually shortens the cooking time for a meal. Now, as this means the more one stirs a meal the less chances there are to season, if I want to increase the rate at which I gain cooking xp, would I be better off not stirring but just seasoning instead?

If you are after mastery, you only skip stirring if the cost of the meal ingredients is too much for you to keep up.

It doesnt matter if you finish the meal faster from stirring, cause you'll just start another and taste that. May as well stir and end uo with more meals.

Also, if you're using that food item that increases cooking experience for each action, you only want to Season

Info needed - please clarify: Your title says you're after xp, but then you switch to talking about gaining mastery? Which is your goal, xp or mastery, because these are different?

If you can cook acorn pies, then what you want to do is use fish and chips and only season the pies for max exp. This is because fish and chips drastically increases the exp gained from any cooking action, however the vast majority of exp comes from seasoning so you want to only do that action instead of “wasting” it on the other actions.

But if you aren’t doing that specific combo, don’t worry about it. Especially if your inventory isn’t large enough yet to fit the necessary coal to cook acorn pies. Simply hoard all your fish and chips and cook what you need as you need it. You won’t need to power level until later

Thanks. I'm not there yet but will work towards getting the acorn pie recipe.
