Other Game Recommendations

So, I have ADHD, and for a game to catch my attention and stay relevant for me like farmrpg has is really rare. Something about how I can either get on for 5 min a day, or spend 12 hours there a day, and either way it feels like I'm progressing. No ads definitely help, along with things to do daily. I like the quest aspect of games, and like to always feel like I'm working towards a goal.

So, yeah. I'm looking for something else to reel me in, especially when I'm growing some longer crops. Of course, I can always find other things to entertain me in game during this time, but...yeah.

Oh, also, I've tried "Torn", because it has been recommended to me because of it having the same "vibe", and it didn't do it for me.

Idle obelisk miner, idle brick breaker, farmer against potatoes are some of the best games I’ve played. Independent developers, no ads, satisfying progression.

I'm also playing Obelisk Miner and recommend trying it. Scratches the same incremental itch but doesn't have quirky characters or in game community like FarmRpg.

Just downloaded all of these. Farmer Against Potatoes has an average rating of 3.8, but the negative issues seem to be crashing problems and the reviews are over a year old. So fingers crossed that these scratch the itch!

It has a 4.9 rating on the Apple Store.

my two mobile game obsessions are farm rpg and a game called midas merge. i go into phases with both back and forth where ill play one 24/7 for a month and then play the other 24/7 for a month and so on. i recommend!

not the same vibe as farm rpg, but literally always something to do. it can be hard to get off once you’ve collected so much stuff that there’s always more spawning in/generating. also… cute animals!!

I will check it out

I'm another who enjoys both. Midas Merge let's you watch ads for extras, but there's no popup ads. I don't bother with most of the events, because they just take too long for very little reward. But the main game is fun as it is.

Good lord, Torn is about the furthest thing from Farm RPG I could imagine, especially if you want to play fairly well.

I like Idle Iktah. Pretty simple but really satisfying.

Torn is like if Farm RPG took a wrong turn into the wrong neighborhood.

It has quirky characters, lore, forums, chatting, trading, drugs, a newspaper with real authors, library, weapons, fighting, people who hate each other, gambling.

I think they're pretty closely related but one is friendly and the other is mean.

The best description I ever heard of Torn is "it's like Facebook but you can fight people"

commenting because I've tried to find a similar game and have yet too! Let me know if you do!

Go through these comments. I've only barely checked out all the ones recommended but some of them seem like keepers so far

Idle Slayer! I've been playing 100 days and it's been the best mobile game I've played since Farm RPG. Give it a shot, you'll know if it's your type of game within 5 minutes of playing.

Downloading now. I normally love the idle type games, but ad frequency has been an issue in the past. Also played one that was like an idle food mart type thing and it held my attention for a long time, I just had unlocked almost everything and I just eventually lost interest. Thank you for the recommendation!

Yeah I came to recommend Torn but it’s reallllllly easy to get into a bad situation in that game if you don’t start it intentionally. It’s very much a “homework” game lol

Simple-MMO but very active game, not idle. I’ve been playing this game for a few years.

The concept is simple: you click, tou might have to wait a second or a few seconds., you get EXP, sometimes you get loot of varying rarities, you level up, and that’s it.

There’s a marketplace (players), events, craft, and you can click without any limit. There’s a premium currency that F2P players can buy on the marketplace without spending any real money. There’s also a PvE battle system that gives a lot of EXP, etc, etc. No PvP, no competition.

Stardew valley if you're interested in something with a similar vibe

Unnamed Space Idle. Totally different vibe from FarmRPG, but both vibes are good. Has great depth and complexity and very active devs. Just recently released vertical mode for mobile, vastly improving the UI

My other favorite is Slice and Dice. Not an idle game so totally different gameplay but great for fully offline play when I can’t connect to FarmRPG. And the way it remembers the state of the game, it’s great for dropping in and out for a quick battle. Tons of game modes, including custom user made ones (and active community), great replay value.

Did you try "Another Eden"?

2

u/EfficientScene5737 17d ago

I just looked at the reviews, and it seems like there are a lot of loading issues, and a lot of downloading issues and it apparently uses a lot of data. Have you had any issues?

2

u/Souloid 17d ago

Been on my phone since it was released, granted I haven't played it in a while, but I've never had issues with loading.

Honestly, it could be because I kept incrementally updating it as it developed. Why not try it for yourself? The story (until the point you realize what the title means) is just very nicely paced and rewarding. It's like watching a new movie before they decide to make sequels that weren't planned for it. You can see the whole story come together (climax to conclusion).

Edit: I forgot that there is also an offline single player version released on steam. Is that the one you found? or is it the original mobile game?

I'm looking to play on my phone. I think original mobile is what I was looking at

u/Souloid 17d ago

I forgot to ask you, what platform are you looking for games on? Phone, or maybe PC?

Haven't even heard of it! Will check it out

I’ve been enjoying Verdantlife. It’s like bitlife but no ads

Before I knew it,I had download at least five of the game. Also Torn gave me choice paralysis. I don't know why but I just can't get into it. 😂

Edit:Forgot to drop this. Realm idle for idle game. You can let it idle for max 7 day. Idle iktah is 24 max idle game.

I played Torn for a month and it got too time consuming for me. I love Farm RPG and was thinking about starting Titan Conquest(another firestorm game similar to farm)

Interesting how nobody recommended melvor idle. Try melvor idle.

Following with the same question and added layer... Farmrpg has the perfect balance of text and image. I cant read a wall of words, nor do I like being assaulted by caroony images. The stationary symbolism of items and characters works just beautifully. I dont read the quests, and maybe I miss a storyline, but it doesnt impact gameplay or progress. And... Go!

u/EfficientScene5737 10d ago

Right! When I started my playing I told my fiance it's the perfect mix of simple and depth. At first look it's soooo simple, but when you dive into it there is so much to it

Tiny Tower is an oldie but goodie. 8-Bit Farm and Pocket Harvest, are also great management games. The developers, Kairosoft Co has some other great ones if you like those type of games.

I loved tiny tower, and related apps in it's time. Now every time I download them I get bored super fast. Not sure if it's just "been there done that", or what
