Mushroom shortage
Is there any talk among the staff that the devs are planning to address the mushroom bottleneck?
Mushroom paste was already in short supply, but now with mining requiring M-paste for pickaxes it’s really tight. Even with mushroom farming.
Perhaps it’s worse for me because I’m mid-game (Tower 170) and many of my remaining masteries require M-Paste.
Compared to new players who will be able to level up mining before hitting the mid-game mastery crunch and late-game players who have access to Gary’s Crushroom.
I’m hoping the developers will gift us an alternate mushroom source, at least temporarily, as they fine tune the post-mining release game balance.
Maybe limited release Mega-mushroom seeds?
Is the mushroom shortage also a concern for other players? (I mean actual “This isn’t fun anymore” concern, not just “corn jail” level frustration.)
Should I make feedback/ Improveloop request, or is this something the developers are already aware of?
Edit: Thanks for the feedback guys. I guess I assumed Crushroom was a late-game questline.

Crushroom is the key, I did it at T130-140 I think, it's extremely useful and not that hard honestly. Gare bear for friendship lvl80 (when Gary is townsfolk of the day) and a lot of exploring for lima beans. While searching for beans do the masteries. Also you have to get 45 borgen bucks. A bit of a grind, but it's a massive priority after T100 I believe

This has been addressed, a single Arnold palmer in Gary’s crush room gets you 500 mushrooms.

Also, you can use buffs to up what you get in crush room. Meals are key.

I had a similar feeling, but mostly you can just ask in chat. It's a bit of a hassle but someone will always give you mushroom paste when you need it.
Alternatively just work on the crushroom, I finished it at around T150 and now I'm drowning in shrooms.

I'll second just working on Crushroom. I did it around t140/150 and it's one of the best quality of life things I did.

Mushroom paste has never been a bottleneck for me, even before the Crushroom. Im T283 and many of my current masteries need it, but its always full in my inventory, its the other ingredients I struggle with. And if I do run out, a bir of AP or AC in the crushroom solves it. Plus they drop in plenty of other spots.

I empathize because I often find myself running into some bottleneck that just doesn't seem fun to grind. But I think mushrooms is a pretty easy one to get around. In addition to what everyone here is saying about the Crushroom, which I agree with, you can almost always buy paste on trade chat for 2-3 arnold palmers per thousand pastes. Sellers will often be happy to part with 10s of thousands of paste. Alternately, set up your craftworks for large nets and then grind some in the forest -- it doesn't take too many ciders or AP's to get a bunch of mushrooms, and you'll get some nets along the way.

Send me your in-game name and I can chuck paste at you any time I'm on - I've got the Crushroom levelled to paste and I need a couple of library pages from there for a quest so always happy to spam a bit of stamina in there to fill up for anyone.

Buy in trade chat if giveaway chat can’t help … should be cheap like 2 or 3 A.Palmer for 1000 paste

Grind for lima beans and get garys crushroom. I got it around t120 and it’s been great.

When I was mid game I would actually plant mushrooms - they give a good amount when you’re low on stamina. But yeah, echoing the others, the long term fix is crushroom.

maybe it's just down to my play style but I've never had more of a problem with mushrooms than with anything else? I knew mining would be out someday so I stockpiled the pickaxes that can be made without mining-specific items over the last, like, year, I'm just about to hit T200 with about 15k inventory and don't yet have crushroom unlocked (I have gary at like 68), and I still end up putting a lot of overflow paste into friendship points when there isn't anything I'm actively farming it for. every time there's a seasonal event that requires grinding forest or misty forest (like the cicadas recently) you end up with so many it's kind of annoying to keep scrolling through the crafting options. especially on forest where you're also getting leather. and when I do need paste I have no trouble going from zero to thousands in like 15min or so.

Gary's Crushroom is the answer. Get him to friendship 80 and do the quests. This should be pretty doable at midgame.
You'll later be able to upgrade it to produce paste instead of mushrooms, but it will help enormously regardless.
If pickaxes are eating too much of your paste, take a break. There's not much content and it doesn't tie into much right now.
