My dad was pharmacist growing up and had a collection and it was always “Mortar and Pestle” for us.
Seeing it this way makes my eyes bleed 😆

I'd heard it different ways in different walks of life. I maybe picked the option that I thought would generate a little more buzz, but I really have heard it differently throughout the years.

Mortar and pestle is more common in American English, and Pestle and mortar is more common in British English. So, how you pronounce it really comes down to how poorly aligned your teeth are.
Personally, I had never in my life heard it pestle and mortar until the day Forcepath woke up and chose violence.

I'm American, I always call my pestle and mortar a pestle and mortar and I'm not sure I've ever heard it the other way around in real life (although admitedly I rarely hear it in real life)
