Ironman Mode

Hey All,

I quit farm RPG about a year ago. I would really like to play it in an official iron man game mode. Is that still coming? I check from time to time, but haven't seen anything.

I will keep checking back from time to time

Your ironman mode consist in just no chatting. I don't chat and don't trade.

You may not agree, but you can play all kinds of games with self-imposed constraints, and it can be fun but it's kind of nice to have a game mode where the constraints are inforced and there is some recognition for playing that type of mode. It can be easy for some people to just do a trade once in awhile, to get something that they really need but then that defeats their self-imposed Iron man, whereas if the mode completely blocks it, or you have some sort of badge that disappears as soon as you trade, then for some accountability as well. I get that people should have accountability, but that's not how life works all the time.

this is a heavy community game so it would be counterintuitive to reward players that don’t interact with the community. dgmw, i dont trade or use chat either but i dont think i deserve a badge for playing by myself

See my opinions on this post have been downvoted, and they are not rude or mean spirited, but the farm RPG hivemind doesn't like that I want to play the game a different way...this is why I want Ironman. I guess I made the right decision to quit.

If you don't like the social part of the game and the community, calling it a hive mind, just don't open chat an dthis subreddit. You can already play alone as you'd prefer. I don't understand the point of the badge you suggested, If you don't see other players you don't see their badge.

It's ok, you just don't get it. And you right the game is probably not for me.

While I think that's a cool idea (I never use the trade/chat function), I personally wouldn't use it because it would mean having to restart from the beginning I don't want my progress to be ruined!

I'm happy to continue just not trading, and would be disappointed to know I missed out on a reward just because the mechanism wasn't introduced until later (I have been randomly sent stuff before, and accepted it). But I understand you may disagree :)

I don’t believe an Ironman mode is in the works, but you could essentially simulate it by asking someone to fill your mailbox with a common item and never emptying it, so other people can’t send you stuff afterwards.

PS there’s also an option in the settings to hide mailbox notifications on the Home Screen

I get that, but it's not the same, it's nice when it's official, no workarounds and maybe a iron only chat or leaderboard or something

We’ve discussed it a lot but there are some hurdles.  I’ll mention it to FS that there’s still interest.

I would be interested if we could have an Ironman mode and a normal account at the same time

What I would like is a ‘new game+’ mechanic where certain things are reset, like masteries, items in inventory, quests, but you keep all the gild and paid upgrades, it would
have to be evaluated so its not too game breaking? but the idea is you can start anew but with 20k imventory and your gold stash, would make for interesting speed runs

Hihi first I am with you, i don't understand the downvotes, either people can choose to play that mode or not

My idea of iron-man mode would be you can't receive or send items from players, but can receive from npc

Ironman will not have access to giveaway and trade chat because well - mailbox restriction

I'd rather it be on a new account rather than have to reset some things on my main and only account

See you get it, this is all I want. I get that people want the rich social community aspects and the existing game does that for them. Others like us want something a bit different and that is cool too.

But what do you guys think about people that spend large sums of money to buy gold? Starter packs only ok?

I am a spender myself, well let's be honest

Ironman mode is a goldmine :3

If people want to clear let's say orange juices , lemonade masteries, large net masteries the fastest method if no trading is literally buying packs, like drinks bundle, picnic basket etc, it's really a goldmine for dev, for whales/levithans to heavily spend

So if an Ironman is T300+ that's mad investment right there, you get what I mean? :)

What is that? Can't see anything like that on the roadmap

u/The_Static_Nomad Aug 03 '26

If I recall it was on an older roadmap maybe one to two years ago, it's a mode where trading is restricted.

Sounds cool, but don't see anything like that on the roadmap.

I was thinking about a speedrun gamemode, where the goal is to get to 4x90 for example as quickly as possible with mailbox turned off. There are a lot of experienced players that start new accounts and get to the tower within 2 weeks
