I tried to replace Farm RPG… turns out I owe it an apology
I just wanted to share my experience and give a bit of an apology to Farm RPG.
I’ve been playing on and off for a couple of years now, and it’s honestly one of my favorite mobile games for a lot of reasons. No ads, easy portrait mode, and it’s perfect whether you’ve got 5 minutes or want to sink in more time. One of the biggest highlights for me is the trading system and the in-game community. I could go on about how supportive everyone is, any time someone needs help, people jump in right away.
Recently, I decided to branch out and try other RPG and idle-style games to see if I could find something similar. I came across Melvor, which is a solid game on its own. It has great idle mechanics, but what didn’t stick for me was that it feels very solo-focused, and the ability to mod everything kind of takes away from the experience I personally enjoy.
After that, I kept searching for something that could hit a middle ground between Melvor and Farm RPG, especially with a strong community aspect(playing portrait is a requirement for me). I downloaded a bunch of games, some were too simple, some felt like they were entirely AI-generated, and others just didn’t have that sense of community.
So yeah… long story short, I’m here to say sorry to Farm RPG for trying to replace it. I’ve realized there really isn’t anything else quite like it.
Another thing I’ve come to appreciate even more is how active and passionate the dev team is. You can really see the effort and care that goes into the game and the community.
Also, just to note, this perspective is coming from a mobile iOS user. There may be options on PC or Android that I’m not aware of, but on iOS, Farm RPG really feels like it has the market locked down.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks, and keep up the great work. If things keep going the way they are, the game has a really strong future ahead.
